Yeah Mike Richards is probably my favourite non-Wing right now.

I htink the whole world is waiting for Pens vs Flyers ala Flyers/sens sens/sabres and have crosby get his ass beat by richards and malkin by asham or something

Matt ought to start a new forum for 'Crosby Bashing'. You guys spend the same amount of time assessing his flaws and dissing him as some people do in the 'Water Cooler'.

Why not, huh? At least the rest of us would be spared from seeing the same old threads over and over again.

No one in this thread or even in this forum claimed Crosby was perfect. I've seen Crosby make plenty of mistakes, stupid plays, and dirty plays. The only difference is that people in this forum seem to think that its necessary to make a thread for every dumb thing he does.

Either join a 'anti-Crosby' forum, or just spare the rest of us and stop pointing out every minor injustice Crosby makes. There have been so many of these in the last year that I feel like a sift through more s*** than actual content relevant to the Detroit Red Wings.

Yeah that series happened about 7 months ago. The Pens dominated. Crosby got 7 points. Lol.

No its not hard, but try and work out the real point of my post; there have been too many of these in the last year, so give it a rest or seriously consider asking Matt for a sub-forum. Next time the Wings play the Pens and you actually have something relevant to point out, then you can roll around like a pig in s*** with your critiques of Crosby. Everyone has heard the same arguments about the guy over and over, but for some reason people find the need for a new one of these every week or so.

P.S. I have to chuckle a bit as I post this with Sidney Crosby Reebok ads all over the page.

Looks like Sid the Kid is getting the last laugh anyways. HE IS LOOKING AT YOU.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't aiming for that guy's ass hole. He was just punching indesciminately because he was emotionally caught up in the act.

My one issue with that clip is when he attacks the guy's head from behind. It looked nearly identical to the Burt/Moore hit (although it was definitely the fall followed by the pile-up on Moore that caused that level of damage to him).

Skating up and punching the back of someone's helmet is pretty dangerous (although I'm sure it wasn't a deliberate attack intended to injure- again, he was caught up in the emotion of the situation- Sidney's never shown himself to be a hitman out there).

If someone on Philly punched a guy in the head from behind like that there'd be an uproar. Crosby or not that punch to the back of the head warranted at least a warning from the league.

Before anyone jumps down my throat screaming that I'm a "h8ter" please reread how I stated my point- it's NOT about who punched who- it's about where and how they punched the person and the recent history behind situations like that in the NHL.

That actually just reminded me of something, a question to which I'm not sure if I got an answer.

The Pens played the Sens a little while back and I was listening to the Sens' radio feed. At one point during the game, the Sens play-by-play said that Crosby gave a "vicious, two-handed slash" to the ankle of a Sens player, then alluded to the possibility of intent to injure.

At that point, I figured it was because it was the Sens' radio feed, they were being homers, etc. Now I'm starting to wonder if there's a pattern emerging. Not necessarily Sid becoming a hitman out there, deliberately trying to injure opposing players, but instead, Sid really coming unglued on the ice, perhaps dangerously so. There's a difference between letting your emotion get the better of you on the ice and just losing control. If it happens once, it's the former. But if it begins to happen repeatedly? The latter.

Please see the video LetsGoPav posted. Anybody who thinks that's Crosby's fault needs to get a reality check. Maybe i'm on my own on this one but I imagine Crosby takes that kind of out of the play abuse more than anybody in the league. Somebody goes ahead and pops me up high for no apparent reason, i'm going to cleave off a leg if I can too. Good for Sid for giving that guy a little payback. I got no problem with that clip.

What's the big deal about discussing this video. Personally, I think this whole 2-on-1 nonsense is cheap, and the butt/crotch punching is even worse, becuse Crosby was watching and knew exactly where he was aiming. For everyone who calls this Crosby bashing, would it be okay to discuss it if it were Pronger doing it?

Agreed.

This Crosby fixation is getting a little pathetic. You guys (not you Gordie) seriously need to take a step back and try and look objectively at your obsession with Crosby. It's hilarious that one of the biggest complaints from Crosby haters is all the hype and attention he gets, yet those same people obsess over any little thing he does on the ice.

It's only natural to take shots right, left and center at the league-annointed chosen one. This thread is just proof of the argument against him being Mr. Awesome Captain like the league would have you believe. And it IS a big deal BECAUSE it's Crosby! Tootoo or Hartnell doing this is status quo.

Those of you who can't stomach criticism of the Golden Boy then don't read the damn thread.

You're missing the point Esteef. I'm in the whatever camp when it comes to Crosby. I don't care if he scores 8 points in 1 game anymore than I care if he throws a cheapshot at somebody.

The problem I have with your argument and the point that crosby haters seem to be missing is that if there are Crosby lovers on this forum. You don't see them posting ga ga threads about Crosby do you? No, as far as i've seen those that like Crosby don't take the time to post threads about his greatness. They don't clog up LGW with threads trying to sell the league's Crosby propaganda and trying to convince everybody he's the greatest thing ever.

No, it's the Crosby haters that are the ones that are totally obsessed with him and feel the need to post every negative thread they can about him. IMO, it makes LGW a worse place to visit. We don't need to have a thread about every dirty little deed Crosby does.

The obsession with Crosby is completely one sided on this board. Those that love him chime in here and there to defend critiques and claims that he's overrated and such. But that's pretty much the extent of it. LGW is hardly the place people come to gush over Crosby. So the idea that threads like this are needed to "shed light" on how not so great he is is ridiculous.

You have some LGWers that are flat out obsessed and hate the guy and feel the need to ***** about him whenever he does anything. Waaah, waah, f***in' waah. These people need to get over Crosby and themselves and move on.

And PS: I totally agree with the poster who said Crosby was indiscriminately punching away at Valabik. I'm not condoning being a third man in but please, people insinuating that he was deliberately going for the ball shot or the ass shot are reaching. It was a mini brawl and in the heat of it he started flailing away at a guy. Happens all the time. And anybody who has ever laced up a pair of hockey pants will tell you i'd rather have a guy throwing glove on punches at my butt than glove off punches at my head when I ain't lookin.

This is an obsession with Crosby haters. And yeah, I don't have to read the threads. But the threads don't have to be posted either. So we could have that *** for tat all day long.

Actually in that video he was interfering Heatley's path to malkin otherwise no shove would have taken place.
