MissyLKS8 6 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 I went to a great game last year, Rafalski got a Gordie Howe hat trick - I swear. I think March/April. I can't remember which game (I go to about eight a year) and there's no information or video of the fight out there... Can anybody help me? Which game and is there any footage from it out there? Thanks!

skacore 2 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 March 5th, 2008, he wasn't given a major because the fight sucked. I didn't know that would have given him the Gordie Howe Hat-trick... not bad

Well, was a great fame other then the comeback game later in the season. Wait a minute here, Missy. Rafalski only made one out of the three GHH requiremnets? And how do we know the fight sucked when it must have been better than the video of the fight? Thanks, though, I missed it when it originally happenned, and its worth it just to see Rafalski slam the guy and skate away like it had been a real fight. RWK23 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2008 When was the last time a Red Wings player got a Gordie Howe hat trick anyway? It had to be Shanahan, right? I can't think of any recently.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted December 24, 2008 He/She is referring to their own post.... Interesting fact: Gordie Howe only ever had one "Gordie Howe Hattrick" Actually, 2. They discovered another recorded one like a year ago or something. However, Gordie Howe had a LOT more 'unofficial' Gordie Hatties. I mean, it was named that for a reason. A goal and an assist wasn't an abnormal occurance for him (he was in the top 5 in scoring for 20 years!). A fight wasn't very abnormal for him, either. The reason his recorded GHHs are so low is because a fighting major was assessed far less often 'back in the day'.

Adding those could boost his number as well. Edit: Nevermind. I just fact checked myself and found that secondary assists were awarded back in the day. You can disregard this post.
