chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted December 31, 2008 Toews said something to the effect that they played the same way last night but they were playing a better opponent so I checked who they played in those 9 games Phoenix Ottawa Colorado Columbus Edmonton Calgary Vancouver Philadelphia Minnesota Of those 9 only Calgary is in the top 4 in points in their conference (and only by 1 point) I guess it's pretty easy to be the boston Celtics when playing those powerhouses. hehehehe
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted December 31, 2008 I've found both the Sharks' and the Bruins' streaks more respectable this year, but 8 in a row against any team in this league is nothing to scoff at.

On that list the Wings have lost to Vancouver twice, Colorado twice, and had to go to the SO to beat Phoenix. Their schedule wasn't the hardest, but putting together a streak like that is still pretty damn impressive. Edited December 31, 2008 by haroldsnepsts
BlackhawksFan 4 Report post Posted December 31, 2008 Those are games that Blackhawks would have lost in the past, but hopefully consistency has finally been found by the current lineup. It's probably good for the Blackhawks to be cruelly reminded who the top dog in the Central Division still is.
Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted December 31, 2008 9 straight's a helluva streak in hockey, no matter who you are and no matter who you're playing. Hard to keep the bounces going your way for that long. I like the fact that Chicago's 9 game win streak was "bookended" by losses to the Wings, though!

RedArmy 4 Report post Posted December 31, 2008 the game was great for both wings and hawks... Wings showed themselves that they can win if they focus (seems only when they consider it to be a serious opponent), so hopefully there will be less laziness... Hawks got a wake up call, which is good for them, so they won't get too cocky or careless come playoffs...
