well, its obvious who the refs have been told to gve the advantage to. Tuern your head when it comes to the Stars infraction unless blantent, do not give Detroit the unfair advantage of being on the power play. Also, throw the first centerman out every chance you get...

...So far, chalk the first period up for the refs and linesmen...

Can one of you really smart people fill me in on the exact dates of our losing streak around this time last year because this feels very similar. We all know how that panned out !!

:champs:

We had a lot more points in the piggy bank saved up than we do now. A losing streak like that and we're looking at losing the division title, let alone the conference or league title.

Right....if you want to ignore the fact that the Stars have clearly outplayed the Wings, and that the PK and goaltending have been subpar.

I don't think Hank is the reason we're losing. We should be able to play without him, you know.

No, of course he's not the reason.. but not having him in the PK is obvious.

Naturally, we should be able to play our game without him. But there's certain players that when they're absent - you notice. In this particular area (PK), you can notice Hank's absense.

The Stars have played well, but it's been their powerplay that's outplaying our PK for the most part.

At even strength I thought we were alright, should've had a goal or two.

Third Dallas goal should have been covered by a d-man as well.

Oh well, let's start the comeback.

...I really hope you're being sarcastic. The only call that is debatable is the first penatly given to Detroit where Dallas scored their first goal.

Agreed. Contrary to what the PK time indicates, not all of our PKing forwards are created equal. Theres a reason Hank is the go-to forward when theres a 3 on 5 to kill off.

Ahhhh, that spectacular 5-on-3 action against the Pens just makes me giddy.

Don't worry about him. He flies off the handle with dumb s*** frequently. At the trade deadline last year, he turned in his "Red Wings Fan Card" because we got Brad Stuart. Seriously.

Problem right now is the Wings have no goaltenders on their roster that are playing well. I don't think any fans can expect a switch to be flipped come playoff time, either. At this point, I'd spent Hossa's salary on a starting goaltender, or bring up Larsson and see if he can get hot ala Steve Mason.

If by that you mean that "suddenly our goaltenders are going to flip the switch and get back to playing well again, like they did last playoffs", then I can assure you there are PLENTY of fans who still think that Ozzie can still "get back into form" by the playoffs. Despite the fact that his play last years was one of the best of his career in terms of on-ice performance, and is going to be incredibly hard to replicate under any circumstances, let alone when the defense in front of him isn't playing well.

It was pretty much the entire month of February. Only difference then was that we had 10 (ten) starters out injured, including our top-4 D.

And that Ozzie stat is just brutal :(

Huh? Third goal was a terrible softie given up by Osgood. On most teams, the fact that Modano or whoever got the shot off would've been a moot point, because it would've been an easy stop for the goaltender.
