Now some people want Lilja kicked off the team for being mean. p.s. remember when Laperriere had a questionable hit on Nick last February? pjgj13 30 Report post Posted February 3, 2009 I think he was injured more from his stick being around his face than anything Lilja did. His stick was sandwiched between the glass and his face. He was pretty close to the glass, if he wasn't, when hit, he would have hit the glass A LOT lower than eye level. At worse, it should have been MAYBE a 4 minute minor but definately NOT a 5 minute major and game misconduct. I just love it when someone like Pronger has all these suspensions and known to make dirty hits, especially on Wings players, we have to beg to get him suspended. To me it looked like Lilja took the guy to the boards rather than throwing him into them, you know. IMO, it's shouldn't be a penalty, but if you have to call it, then it should just be 2 mins. Should Lilja have gotten a penalty? That's even debatable, but I could see where someone might give him one. Lilja NEVER left his feet. The only mistake he made was elbowing the guy in the back of the neck. So give him a penalty - fine. But to eject him from the game and give him a misconduct over it? Absolute bulls***.
