Shaman 713 Report post Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) Honestly Schneider was great a few years ago on our team, and I will always be grateful for what he brought to the wings for the time he was around, but mark my words, just because someone was great 4 years ago doesnt mean its the case now. Wings fans have an odd nostalgia when it comes to players that were good their first go around on the Wings, but, definitely not what the wings would need. I mean every other post last year was about Dmac (hes a great story, but come on, hes really not NHL ready, he plays a game then is injured for the next 10 months, its time for him to hang'em up) and about how need need feds or hell ive even heard Cujo and Manny being wished for. We dont need retreads, we need to let our kids in our system come up and show what they got, so they can either be kept up, told how the need to improve, or moved. Simple as that. esteef 2,679 Report post Posted February 5, 2009 Beyond that this wouldn't be believable with his salary, I wouldn't want Schneid back anyways. While he's got that cannon from the point, he's slow and fared worse defensively, something the Wings sorely lack and would only get worse by adding him. If anything I'd go for a stay at home defenseman who can punish people and pass the puck. Exactly.
