theman19 47 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) How's washingtons cup runs been since that deal; oh wait. Honestly; Fleschmann still would be playing in GR and Green would probably be there too. How do we known a guy like kindl won't produce like him, or Ericsson for that matter. We won't until they're up here in the big show. Then people will say stuff like "red wings turn last pick in the draft into future norris trophy canidate." rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 Green is a bit of a tough pill to swallow. But Tomas Fleischmann? I'd be willing to bet that Leino could rack up 16 goals by mid February if it was his third year in the NHL. And Detroit got him for nothing. Not to mention that Franzen was a 2nd round pick as a 24 year old. Which means that 30 teams passed on him 6 times. Screw Fleischmann.
TheOwl 77 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) The one goal I'll never, ever forget was Robert Lang's goal with 30 seconds left versus San Jose in the second round of the 2006-2007 play-offs. Game 4, San Jose lead 2-1 in the series, and with 30 seconds left in regulation, Lang scored, overtime, Detroit one, and eventually won games 5 and 6. That one goal was worth whatever Green can do. Stick a 4th forward on the ice as a D-man and he'll put up Green numbers. Highly over-rated D-man, but a great scorer. LANG FOREVER! Plus, let's not forget that Lang had his own action figure. Green? Pffft. I don't see an action figure of him. Ok, he has his own colour- that is impressive. SDavis35 140 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 Maybe we would have taken Johan Fransson. He went to Dallas for the 34th overall pick. I think they pick they wrong Johan. Or Alexander Elder (3rd round), and Mark Streit (9th round) Dallas must feel really bad about that typo
