cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 Story about the temporary change: The Freep. From the article: TV analyst Mickey Redmond had some advice for McCarty: “The language up in the radio booth is a little softer than what he’s used to down on the ice.” Try: WXYT-FM (97.1). VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 That was McCarty? I only caught a few minutes on the radio and noticed Ken Kal wasn't there and Paul Woods was doing play by play. I liked McCarty without even knowing it was him. Very cool.
Barrie 900 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 That would be a great gig for DMac if he went into the broadcast booth!
Casey 145 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 He did great. You could tell it was a struggle to use player's full names, though.
wingsnut25 10 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 As a big fan of McCarty it pains me to say this: McCarty probably has a much brighter career in the broadcast booth then he does on the ice...

egroen 384 Report post Posted February 14, 2009 He does a pretty good job - obviously you can tell it is new to him - a lot of pauses, stutters and the tendancy to ramble, but he does not sound too out of place. It's especially nice to have someone talking who has played with all these guys and can give some further insight into their play.
