softshoes 83 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=3920515 Mac's goal in the SCFs against Philly gets some love. Funny, Ovie's "goal of the year" doesn't make the list. Let the debate begin. Are these your top goals? Edited February 21, 2009 by softshoes
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 Finally ESPN does something right... I actually agree with this to an extent.
MagicMan13 8 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 I guess myself along with everyone else on this board is pretty biased, but why is Stevie's 1996 2nd OT blueline blast winner against St. Louis not on this list?
Guest Four Report post Posted February 21, 2009 That top 10 goals seemed pretty biased towards the Penguins.. I mean, their goals were good, but not top 10 material! I do agree on all the other goals though.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) I guess myself along with everyone else on this board is pretty biased, but why is Stevie's 1996 2nd OT blueline blast winner against St. Louis not on this list? Well, they said that situation the goal was scored in was not a factor, it's just about the esthetics. In my opinion Jagr's and Lemieux's goals were not all that great. Pretty good list other than that though. EDIT: oh, and Cindy's had no business among those goals either. Haven't we seen a ton of goals like that? Malkin scored an even nicer one than that just the other day. Edited February 21, 2009 by dat's sick

Crosby's especially. Ovechkin's "falling down" goal was more impressive because the puck was clearly on his stick and held there throughout the attempt. Same goes for Flip's flying goal last year. Crosby just crashed the net (dove? ) and it came in off his body. The goals by Gretz, Savard, Ovie, etc...much more impressive. I don't even particularly like Wayne, but that was a hell of a feat of hand-eye coordination there.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 Lemieux scored like that a million times, but that one was pretty famous. HNIC intro anyone?
Never_Retire_Steve 35 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 I think Savard's was the best. Stevie's goal against the Blues was HUGE but it definitely wasn't even one of his ten nicest goals. Having said that....where is Yzerman's goal against the Blackhawks?
thedatsyukian 7 Report post Posted February 22, 2009 I wonder if dats has a miraculous goal in him this season. I've been waiting for one all season.
RedWingedKitten 9 Report post Posted February 22, 2009 I wonder if dats has a miraculous goal in him this season. I've been waiting for one all season. I thought that Winter Classic one was pretty sweet. But I do think Pasha has yet to hit his super awesome insane goal of the season yet. Wouldn't it be sweet if he scored one in the playoffs. redwing_sparty 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2009 i dont really like gretzky but that was a very cool goal. crosby's was weak and we all know why it was on there. lemiux's goal was not overly impressive either. glad mac got some love. that goal by rick nash oughta be 1 or 2 though in my book. that was an absolutely sick goal. i kept waiting to see dats dangle but no such luck. hossa's dangle from earlier this season was cool too. i'd prefer if they;d done the best goals of the past 10 years instead of 20 or so
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted February 22, 2009 I know these are supposed to be top 10 in recent memory, but they did go back quite a ways, so I'm not sure how that is the top 10. The Savard goal has been my all time favortie for awhile...the replay there didn't even show the whole time he held on to the puck. Bure has some great goals that are better than some of these. Crosby's goal was nice, but no business on this list....he scored a handful of goals himself better than that one.
