Hate to say it...sick Marty Turco save

Hasek was great, no doubt, but to think he always knew exactly what he was doing and was lucky a lot of times is pretty far fetched. I'm not saying that he was anymore lucky than any other goalie, but there was certainly some luck in there (a la saves like we just saw Turco make).....the same luck that any other goalie gets now and then.

I know Dom was lucky on occasion. He said so himself. I am talking about people who dismiss an entire body of work as "luck." They're out there, believe me. If it was luck, then Dom had more than his share, and fooled everyone into all those Vezinas and back to back Harts.

Not arguing with you, Toby. I am far from delusional, however. Show me another player who could pull off the things Dom did, and tell me there was no plan involved. There was. It was just unique to Hasek, that he could do that.

QFT.

You wanna see Turco make some saves... game 6 vs. San Jose last year.

Turco's saves in Game 6 last year were nothing compared to Nabokov's robbery of Richards:

Now I'd say hands down, that was the biggest save of the year; not only because of the save itself, but that the Sharks avoided elimination because of it (albeit for just 2 more periods)

Yeah, that Nabokov save is one of the nicest ones I've ever seen.

This Turco save was great, but Toews waited far too long with the shot, and we've seen similar desperation saves many times before.

I'm more impressed by saves like the one by Nabby above, and the glove hand reflex-save by Loungo in the game against Calgary the other day.

Yep, both Turco and Nabokov put on a show that night. It was a very entertaining game.

For those alleging luck, he had to consciously put himself in the position to make that save. Sure, he's lucky Toews didn't take a better shot, but that speaks to the skill and bearing of Toews not Turco. Good save by a good goalie. Luck isn't real.

Turco was quoted later saying that he had a new pairof skates on that day, if he had worn his old ones, the blades would have been shorter from all the sharpening!

ok, I made that up, but that would have been cool if that was the difference, the length of the blade!
