I'm rather fond of Miller.

I hate to see anyone injured except those who deserve it (2002 Pronger).

I said no in the poll because I think Miller is their rock, but I don't count them out completely. This just knocks their chances down to "slim".

No Miller = No Playoffs for the Sabres.

Lalime is just plain lousy these days, and Buffalo isn't going to go far without getting Miller back in the lineup.

I wonder if they will be a buyer at the deadline now to keep the possibilities alive for the postseason.

I am curious to see if they decide to unload Teppo Numminen and Maxim Afinogenov here at the deadline.

Even if they did make the playoffs, their chances decrease substantially without Miller. That really sucks for them. It's only going to make it easier for a select one or two teams out in the East in hopping over them or beating them in the postseason. Hopefully he can make a speedy recovery and get back on the ice to help the Sabres.

I wonder if they are thinking like Anaheim is. NHL home ice on xm this morning was reporting, that Anaheim is not expecting a long run into the postseason, if they even make it. He said they were willing to listen to any team about a trade, bringing youth and speed to the team for Pronger or even Scott Niedermayer.

The toolbags on versus seem to think that they will look at Lalime for a game or two. If they dont see stellar performance they would likely trade for a goalie at the deadline. And the liklihood of them landing Fernandez is not likely, due to being in the same division as Boston. I am thinking Lehtonen or Tellqvist.

Off-topic: About that Pronger news, please God let him go to some crappy team like Atlanta.

I doubt god would answer this prayer. Atlanta is a seller, so they wouldn't go after Pronger knowing they would have to give something up like picks when it's what they are going for.
