No I know they didn't goon it up, but I had them elevated to a status where I didn't think they got frustrated and overly emotional (in a bad play hurting way) and take a bunch of penalties. And they did retaliate sometimes, like the Boyle slashing penalty. I know what I said came off as much more harsh than I wanted it to sound. It's just that I had them elevated to such a high status in my mind and I realized they weren't quite what I thought they were.

I hear you. The wings got to them tonight, and some players lost their cool. I think TM will straighten them out.

So all you Osgood Worshipers, you still think Conklin cant do it in the playoffs?????

How's about we just be happy with this win and since Ozzie is still a Red Wing and is our goalie Friday night, we just for frickin' once, wish him well? Or just shut the hell up about it? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? :annoyed:

If you can't be 100% sure that 100% of the puck has crossed the line it's a no goal simple as that. Probably around 90% of the puck was over but it's not enough.

Agreed. Even Murph was saying he couldn't see any white behind it. I really really didn't think it went totally over the line.

Yeesh, what was it over? I saw a fight in the stands back during a playoff game in 2004 against the Preds over beer

I'm not sure, I was in the lower bowl, everyone just stood up to watch it and my brother actually tapped me and said "watch Datsyuk". I think every game I've gone to there is someone talking smack to someone else. The last Colorado game, this old dude was complaining about someone bumping his kid after the game. I'm thinking, dude, we're sardines in here. Get a grip people.

Cleary should sit imo. I might get flamed for saying it, but his play as of late has not impressed me at all.

If I were Babcock (and thank God I'm not) I would sit/trade/drop/bankshot Kopecky and Filppula. I agree with whoever said Franzen didn't look good tonight but I want to think that's just a temporary thing.

Meanwhile, the fourth line was hot and I truly believe that an interchange/juggling of Leino and Helm with Maltby and Draper would be nicely lethal, if they're given the time to play more together.

Just got done watching the game, great game by the wings. No excuses for the sharks.

I hope Hossa is okay though.

And holy s*** about sitting Filppula. Just wow. Kopecky maybe, but flip? What are you thinking?

And conklin will win the cup for us. :)

That's not how it works, and it's not as simple as that. Have you figured out the offside rule yet?

He's still new to hockey, only been watching for a few months now. He should understand what's going on within a few years.

Just got back from my first trip to the Joe and what a game!!! The ice was slanted the whole night...the sharks came on a little bit in the 3rd but not enough for a team that looked playoff ready to me. So many goals I didnt have time to worry about Claude. GO WINGS!!!

good game:). the best team won. Sharks didn't show up for the big game as usual. i didn't see the half of the second and third, had to go to a friends birthday dinner. it might have been a good thing.

Well, the Sharks actually had some decent chances toward the end of the 2nd and a good portion of the 3rd with all those man advantages. Conklin made some outstanding saves, and because of the penalties the Wings offense became rather stale, minus the 5 on 3.

When that puck hit the netting it was actually advantage Sharks, they had possession and were on the PP, Zata just pulled the d-man's jock off and proceeded to jam it down Nabokov's throat, the Sharks screwed up what could have been something working in their favor.

this was huge game, and it showed me alot about the wings. they got up for this one, because it was very important. i hope that drive turns back on for the rest of the season, if not only the playoffs. there can be no excuses for this loss for the sharks, no game the day before, no grueling travel. it also showed me how shaky nabokov can be, and i think the wings saw that tonight. sure he had some big saves, but i think the crowd helped out. 10 goals in two games at joe? ill take it.

congrats to pasha for his tremendous milestone, and heres to another 500 more. also leino had a big game, and too all saying leino for helm, are you crazy?? did you see darren dive and push the puck out of the zone on the pk?? that speaks volumes. biggest factor of the night? discipline :)

SJ is an elite team, i think the problem lies in your goaltending, Nabokov is overrated and over payed, i actually think Boucher is better then him imo. I've always thought this way about Nabokov its not just this year. He may look good at times but its mostly due to the team he has in front of him. He is NOT a playoff goalie.

Agreed. Minus win percentage Conks is better stats wise.... Ironic. Playoffs head to head - I would not hesitate to put Conks against Naby right now.

I wish him well, but after s***ting himself for the whole season, its time to start planning for the playoffs.

For all you posters and readers on these forums here is a great example of pure spin-doctoring of something someone says on here.

I said in an earlier post this...

"So all you Osgood Worshipers, you still think Conklin cant do it in the playoffs????? "

Now read Vladfans response above...

1st of all, show me where I am bashing Osgood in my 1 line question.....???

2nd show me where I am even talking about Osgood......???

You cant because I am talking about CONKLIN!!!

Some of you on here complain that I am insulting you on the forums---wonder why???--- now you know, this is why I call some of you in these forums-- MORONS!!

They need to keep Kopecky off the ice and keep Leino or Helm in... not sure how they can keep either of those 2 off the ice come play off time? Shows to me how useless and unnecessary Kopecky is.

I agree totally and have been saying this for a while!! Leino is looking like the real deal out there and is getting better every game and Helm is like a nuclear power plant on skates with all the energy he is bringing to the game!

oh really? on my phone i had phone updates from espn, and i just saw redwings shoot all over the place aganist nabokov. Sharks just sucked today, which pisses me off. Sharks can't play big games, they showed it year after year, they obviously have won big games this year, but this one was the biggest game of the year. They choked, everyone choked. I couldn't name a good player on the Sharks tonight. Sharks were frusrated at the end, i ddint' see the boyle slash. But obviously he was frusrated. Just go to tommrow's game aganist the Sens, and get a win. Throw this game out, and well hopefully see you guys in the Western conference finals. If we dont' choke.

The Wings have already had their slump this season. They are, and will remain on fire. The Sharks on the other hand, are just heading into their slump. When it's all said and done, the Wings will be in front by 3 points and have home ice advantage.

Words cannot describe the amount of awesome that game was last night.

Leino has 100% won me over. It doesn't matter what line he's on, he finds a way to the back of the net. His goal was one of the many reasons I consider hockey players the most talented atheletes in the world.

Z's turnaround shortie was nothing short of breathtaking, and the intelligence he used in scoring his second was incredible. Conkblock looked steady and beyond comfortable from the moment the puck dropped.

Just a great game to watch all-around.

The Wings have already had their slump this season. They are, and will remain on fire. The Sharks on the other hand, are just heading into their slump. When it's all said and done, the Wings will be in front by 3 points and have home ice advantage.

I just can't get on board with this type of thinking. The Sharks are extremely healthy and nothing suggest they'll start slumping right now. They may not be as hot as they were the first half of the season, but to me nothing stands to reason that they'll start dropping games, while the Wings scorch ahead.

TBH, I'm not so sure its even that important. While some people don't like the idea of playing the first two games of a playoff series on the road, is something that can be overcome by winning one of the first two. The Wings never faced too much pressure last year because they were able to go up 2-0 in every playoff series they played, but if the Wings can get one of the first two in the Tank then they'll be in good shape. Even if they split at home, the pressure goes squarely to SJ to defend home-ice in Game 5.
