P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 (edited) 22 seconds into overtime Alexander Semin scored a game-winner from center ice with a big slap shot. Tim Thomas was so angry that he got up right away and skated quickly to the gate and off the ice. This was the Caps' 40th win this season and it was the quickest the Caps have ever gotten to 40 wins in a season. Boston is now three points ahead of Detroit with Detroit having one game in hand. Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 I saw that. I felt bad for Thomas, but that was hilarious. I've never seen a goalie sprint off the ice and down the hallway so fast.
Carman 387 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 It cracks me up reading some Bruins' boards wanting to trade Thomas. It's completely inevitable that no team will ever be happy with their goaltending. But that was a very exciting game to watch. Capitals are very entertaining, I just don't see them having the depth for a long playoff run. Also if that rumour about Pronger to Boston has any merit, just wow.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 I saw that. I felt bad for Thomas, but that was hilarious. I've never seen a goalie sprint off the ice and down the hallway so fast. Pretty much. I love Thomas, but his reaction was priceless, he beat every other Bruin to the dressing room.

seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 Great game, although I thought the penalty leading to Chara's goal was kind of a gift. That goal made me really happy though.
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 I like the way both of the teams play. I wanted Boston to lose, just because Detroit is trying to catch them and San Jose.
Mike 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 Yeah, Boston lost, but they still got a point. Boston and San Jose need to stop losing in OT or the SO and just lose in regulation.
Kevvie 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 video of that goal? Anyone? Anyone at all...
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted February 28, 2009 The handful of times I've seen Thomas lose in sudden death, he's always bolted off the ice like that, whether in an OT or a shootout, whether the goal he let in was bad or not.
