The Mule 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 Well, we're chasing the Sharks, so naturally we all want them to lose, so you'll all be happy to know the Habs are currently leading them 3-0 in the first. I wouldn't consider myself a Montreal fan either, but go Habs go!
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 It's not even close so far. The Habs had their way with Le Shark in the first period.

Guest DetroitBoy313 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 Habs 3 Sharks ZERO! Wow! Sharks are starting to look human,I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. It's impossible to go through a full season without a few bumps in the road.
Cern 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 Nabokov is out with the Flu Not that it particularly makes such a big difference, Boucher to my recollection has been putting up some pretty damn good numbers. This bodes well for us! Wings could close in for the kill on the Sharks with a win tonight.
Zetterling 16 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 Anyone see Don Cherry talk about Ovechkin? Haha, yeah. A defense man will take him out for cheering after a goal like a soccer player! Ovie is a franchise guy though. You never hit a franchise guy. Funny though.

Ratbastrd 90 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 Figured you guys would love this: "We're just a good team," Thornton said. "We're just fast, we're strong, we're big, a lot of teams just don't know how to play us and really can't handle us and I think you saw that for 40 minutes. They just had really no clue how to stop us but I think their goalie played well, but we're just big and strong." This is about an hour after the game with MTL, which the Sharks lost. What a putz! I can see why that comment wouldn't be well received, but if anyone watched the whole game, the Sharks dominated the play for most of the game. It was pretty accurate. Halak played great and stole the win for the Habs. I just picked him up in my fantasy league actually.
hmmthesharks 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2009 yes, the sharks didn't win, and if they didn't deserve the win, i would say they didn't. but unfortunately, they did deserve it for completely dominating almost the entire game. letting in 3 goals in 6 mins is something no team should do because it's hard coming back from that, but either way, the sharks deserved two points they didn't get. oh well, all teams have their off games. It's not always the things that Thornton says, but it's more how and when he says them. Thornton, and to a greater extent, San Jose, has never won anything. So, for him to say things like this, coupled with his "We're the best team in the NHL" quip from a few months back, just shows an almost arrogant attitude that he hasn't really earned yet. Joe is an elite player, but he shouldn't talk s*** like this until he's earned the right to do so. Nobody would even question Steve Yzerman making these comments, but Joe Thornton . . .
