SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 6, 2009 I don't like to jump the gun on these kinds of things being the Ericsson has only played 10 games total in the NHL - people almost always want to see new people or have the mentality of "the grass is greener on the other side" - but I can't wait to see this guy in full-time NHL duty. Very solid his first 2 games this season. Great puck movement, very little/no brainfarts or turovers. Could be a little more physical but that might come eventually. Though you know, like pretty much almost any player on here, it'll only be a matter of time before Ericsson gets dumped on obsessively as well.

Ya well, I suppose that is the downside of playing on a elite team with a rabid fan base who has high expectations. I sure as hell wouldn't mind, you know, the "dumping", if I were making millions (which he will make many times over) to play hockey -- let alone in Detroit. Their professionals, they understand it comes with the territory. I love the guy and am excited to see him progress even more. Hoping we have a beast back there who will be around for many years to come. That said, I couldn't help but notice how Jonathan Ericsson has become some of the posters on LGWv very own version of the man with a plan Bill Brasky himself. Just replace salesman with Red Wing and Brasky with Erickson and BAM -- you gotta match: And then of course: Edited March 6, 2009 by sureWhyNot
motorcitykid 42 Report post Posted March 6, 2009 I love how his shot, and accuracy so resemble Lidstrom's. That almost-goal by Pavs off a redirect from Ericss awesome fake shot was proof indeed he's got the goods.
redwings604 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2009 He reminds me of a young Sheldon Souray hopefully they pair with him with Nik next year for mentoring. He has so much potential he can skate well, long stride, not afraid to be pyshical around the net, even after the whistle, he will and can fight, monster shot, good vision coming out of his zone, i think 2 years this guy is better then phaneuf hands down. He is the guy for the future hope then can get him signed long term f*** franzen in my opinion.
