Humbling loss, first i want to give kudos to the young guys on the Isles for not being intimidated and giving a big f*** YOU to our Red Wings tonight.

Now that i have said that, we were just shutout on home ice by the worst team in the league and we made a career backup/ahl caliber goalie look like a Vezina winner, what are we going to do when we run into a goalie thats actually a Vezina caliber type WAIT! Lets not even go that far what will happen when we run into a proven starter???? Next point, Hossa+Datsyuk+Zetterberg+Lidstrom+Rafalski = more of a salary hit then the entire Isles roster from tonight minus maybe Streit. This was ******* pathetic, say goodbye to the Presidents Trophy these guys obviously won't win it if they can't win a gimme game, nor do they deserve it after something as embarrassing as tonight. Maybe our guys can ask Franz Nielsen and Josh Bailey how to finish because we lack any kind of scoring touch. This has really turned me off from the regular season and now im just looking forward to the playoffs, i don't know if im going to watch any games up until then.

Still leaving a few players out:

Ericsson was skating hard all night and carried the puck up the ice at every opportunity. His effort level was definitely at or above where it should have been.

Holmstrom was doing his thing just as well as anyone's asked him to. He looked fine in front of the net and his screen almost led to a goal if not for a lucky bounce for MacDonald.

... ummm....

Kronwall looked ok on the power play... lazy at other points, but considering how lack-luster the defense was tonight I guess that's enough for a pass.

There were probably a few other players... it's hard to remember all of tonight's hard workers in that sea of mediocrity.

So I guess my main point was that Ericsson looked real good out there in addition to Datsyuk, Filppula and Osgood (mostly).

For the first night possibly all year, Ozzie was the only one that came to play. I was at the game, and frankly, I want my money back. What an embarassing display. They half-assed it all night.

And you can defend the team all you want, but they could've clinched the division tonight with a win, and put some real space in between them and San Jose. Home advantage could be the deciding factor in the playoffs, and if we come up against San Jose, the season series says the home team will win. If that happens, we can all point to this game where the Red Wings mailed it in all because they were playing against a bottom feeder.

With a better work ethic, this was two easy points in the bag tonight. Instead, every puck battle was lost and passes were sloppy. Too much relaxation on these past two days off.

As one of the guys next to me said on the way out after the game, the best part of the night was seeing the 106 year old lady on the jumbotron. We should've put her in a jersey and see what she could do tonight.

Thanks for the input, Young Guns. And especially for your comment about Ozzie. I'm so sorry you wasted your money that way. I also thought of the poster on here who was driving in with family from Colorado to see (I think) this game. Gawd......

If we'd flown in from Texas you can bet yer buns we woulda sued somebody for that fiasco.

I actually felt uncomfortable before the game. How people just describe the Isles as the worst team in the league was almost same as how the Wings think on the Isles. That was a brutal joke. Why can we not beat the weak team as we beat the strong team? We just have no heart when we play against the weak teams.

We have lost already three times to the Avs who is the worst team in the West and injury prone. We are gonna have a tough time to play in the first round. Idealitically 7th and 8th placed team will face us in the first round.

I watched throughout the 1st and 2nd period. It was just a waste of time. More than a humilated lose, it was a freaking bored game, no offense except for Datsyuk was working hard. Zetterberg has looked totally lost last two games. He does not even control the puck well and let the opponent to steal the puck from the corner. Osgood made some good saves. No need to blame him on those 2 goals even though I kind felt bad on him. Lidstrom and Rafalski were atrocious and same with Kronwall and Stuart. Ericsson really deserves to be on the 2nd defense pair line.

Besides, I do not know what to say about Babcock. How the hell Kopecky is on the PP unit? That is unacceptable. He looks to disrespect Hudler while he loves Kopecky? Just a waste of money.

If we do not win on Sun, I am gonna be freaking pissed off... s*it

Don't feel bad. I actually chose to go to this game over a couple others because I thought to myself "The Islanders? Easy win. 3 goals for us at least." And then my buddy started joking with me before the game. "Watch us get our asses kicked tonight..." Oops.

I was ready to stand on the corner outside the Joe asking every Red Wing to pay me about $4 each.

Nah, that was the time I went to the Canucks game last season against the Flyers, 7-1 blowout. I was swearing in all my mind and wanted to get back my money. I understood your mind well.. 3 goals at least? Does not matter. Just go to games against some strong teams because the Wings are sloppy against weak teams while they are great against strong teams.

Eh, bad loss but could also be a valuable lesson learned...hit enough posts I'd say. Hopefully this loss doesn't come back to haunt us if it comes down to us losing out on home ice advantage. Ozzy, Flip, and Dats were good I agree.

I really hope Babcock does the smart thing come playoff time and puts Leino and Helm in for Maltby and Kopecky.

I will pick up my duck shaped phone that taps into murray's office and see if we can get something done next season....Or maybe.... we will just trade without the league having to know about it and just put giggy in ozzy's/conklin's jersey... I am pretty sure there are about 1000 fans out there wanting to trade in there giggy jersey for a hiller one right now....

*hopefully u guys have alot of goalie sticks on hand he tends to break them when he gets pwned which is alot this season.
