:rotflmao: sure thing what do you offer? I will pick up my duck shaped phone that taps into murray's office and see if we can get something done next season....Or maybe.... we will just trade without the league having to know about it and just put giggy in ozzy's/conklin's jersey... I am pretty sure there are about 1000 fans out there wanting to trade in there giggy jersey for a hiller one right now....

*hopefully u guys have alot of goalie sticks on hand he tends to break them when he gets pwned which is alot this season.

It's ok- Hossa taught the Red Wings training staff to always place triple orders on spare sticks.

Edit: sorry, I forgot the offer...

Hmmm... I'm not sure I could make it work in a cap world without some real thought into it... so how does an autographed, game-used Howe jersey AND a personalized photo of Stevie Y sound? If you can beat Holmstrom's time for one lap around the rink we'll throw Kopecky in too.

Why must people be smart asses? If you're not critical of the best team in the league after being shutout on home ice to the last place team in the league.................. GTFO!

hahahahaha what?

because people are being stupid freaking out about a regular season game at the end of march when we already have the playoffs locked up???? maybe thats why the smart asses come out.

it was just a game...nothing more, nothing less. NO INJURIES... we WIN!

The Wings mailed it in for 40 minutes. The thing is, you can outplay a team for 60 minutes and still lose if the breaks don't go your way; tonight, they played hard for 20 minutes and didn't get the breaks, so of course they lost.

If they win the Cup this summer, nobody will remember this game. But YoungGuns hit on something that I was thinking about during the 2nd period: If you paid to see this game live, you should be pissed. 20,000 paying customers in the worst economy in the United States dished out hard earned money to watch this pile of sh**, and I feel for every one of them.

I have to be honest, I've attended fewer games this season because of the inconsistency. I took my daughter to a bunch of games last year because I knew that win or lose, we'd see a solid effort by a team that busted its ass almost every single night. But it was clear early on this season that there were going to be plenty of nights off, even at home. Once we experienced the Pittsburgh loss first hand, I was pretty sour on the lack of effort and I've only been to one game since.

Again, this may all be part of letting a team deal with the aftermath of winning the Stanley Cup on its own terms. Babcock learned a lesson when he cracked the whip on his Ducks squad the season after they lost game 7 of the SCF and they wound up missing the playoffs entirely. I think he's picked up enough from experience and all those conversations with Scotty Bowman that he has a big picture strategy about dealing with the off nights without attaching too much significance to them. It seems he picks his spots when it comes to berating the team for playing crappy.

Hopefully, the somewhat laid back approach Babs seems to be taking with the team is going to pay off this Spring. I guess we'll see. If they lay an egg in the first round, we may see a different Babcock next season. But damn, to pay hard earned money to watch this game would leave me infuriated.

Lazy ******* team. I hate them when they show no effort. Pathetic performance. Babcock should really do something about this crap, because it is not the first or second time this happened.

lol?... I think people need to realize it was a bad game even the best team in the league has a couple of them.. and they dont need to over analyze things. Especially with a team like the red wings. And like said before playing against teams that have no chance to make the playoffs are not gimmies.. It has been said time and time again any team can win any night.

It would be a little easier to understand if it was a team fighting for a playoff spot. But Detroit did it against a team that has every reason to lose. (#1 pick in the draft)

That's the part that worries me.

I think it's time to realise that the parity level in the NHL this season has been beyond ridiculous...you can probably do a coin flip before alot of games, the outcome really is 50/50, everyone can win against anyone.... can't believe people saying "that's why it's so fun with NHL, every team can win and loose against anyone" go to the casinomachines, it's the same thing... ******* lottery.

And yeah, boston, detroit, san jose has had a bit more luck through out the season i guess.

I agree I can't believe I wasted so much as my time to watch that game last night that was f-ing pathetic. And no, that wasn't the first time they've done that- I think they basicly did the same dayum thing vs. Edmonton and pulled it out of their arse in the third period.

You can call me whatever you want, I don't care, but I'm not watching another regular-season game. And if they keep blowing games to s***ty teams there's not going to be any point in watching the playoffs either because they're just going to get owned by a more motivated (and less talented!) team. No team in this league has enough talent to win on talent alone, bar NONE, w/o effort they'll be out by round 2.

Oh yeah- Anyone remember back in '97 when they could hold on to the puck because the players knew how to use their body to protect the puck, what the heck ever happened to that anyway? Don't they realize if you're pushing the puck out in front of you w/your stick while skating someone's just going to slap it away from you????

Wasn't Chicago a bottom feeder last year?

I didn't watch the game but I notice that everything seem to go Islanders way.

To be fair, I think Wings were favored for the calls last night. It seems the refs were giving the Wings "opportunities" to come back, but just couldn't finish. Bottom line, J.Mac played like a freaking MVP beast last night... Why did we let this kid go???

Out of all the loses this year, for some reason, this one stings the worse for me.

I'm already over it. It sucked for about 5 minutes and then I realized I left my clothes in the washer and had to re-do them.

We lost. It happens. Sometimes we lose to really good teams, sometimes we lose to really bad teams. Doesn't mean you can't be upset, it just means it's not the end of the world. Speaking of the end of the world, do you know that I am completely out of Diet Coke? I have the last one in front of me right now. Now that's a travesty.

The real travesty is you thinking Diet Coke is actually a good drink.

I can only respond to this paragraph. The major reason then was because we had the Russian Five. I believe, the best line in hockey to this day. They were a group art form. They were muscle and grace and finesse on ice. They made most opponents look like peewees. And I can't tell you how much I miss them. There really aren't words.

The real travesty is you thinking the real travesty is me thinking Diet Coke is a good drink. I can't drink regular pop (I'm giving away my Midwestern-ness, here), it gives me horrible acid reflux. So I have to drink Diet. Which I don't mind, I actually like it.

Other than water, the occasional Starbucks/Gloria Jeans and orange juice, Diet Coke is all I drink.

How bout 2002. Remember that... They sucked the last 10 games of the season then lost the 2 first games in the playoffs.

Remember how that turned out? Stanley Cup.

All the negaitve post about regular season games on LGW are just stupid. The Wings are within a game of the Presidents Trophy and people are bitching every time they lose a regular season game.

Lighten up people. None of it counts until the playoffs start and we have the same team that won the cup last year.
