StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 I wonder what he was almost traded for in 2002? I remember hearing that he almost signed with the Wings one year when he was a free agent, but I had no idea that he was almost traded here. I think they meant 01 for starters cause that was the year he was traded to the Blues and I'm sure the Blues wouldn't have traded him to the Wings the in 02. Anyways I am also curious to what they were offering. Wonder if he was option 1 and Hasek option 2? or maybe a 1a and 1b they would take whatever trade happened first. The Hasek deal worked out great so I'm not complaining but I would take him now for a cheap salary.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 You really have just woken up haven't you? Have you checked out Pavs LW? Oh. Good. Heavens. I did just wake up. I read Devereaux as Dandenault, who was a d-man that season. Not that it makes too much difference, but the Pavel of then was an unproven (playoffs wise). That'll teach me to post half-asleep. I do better drunk.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 3, 2009 Signing Weight for something like 850k, 1 year would be exactly the type of signing that could help Detroit make a good transition between changing caps. He'd be an awesome 3rd line center and a great PP specialist.
