Guest Four Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I cant wait for Ericsson to fully develop.. He's going to be so unstoppable on the point during powerplays. 100 mph slapshot + Homer infront = Goal Loving the Franzen visor too
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Team defense looked great, Dats/Hossa are a really good combo. Flip was playing insane tonight, and Big Rig also played very nice and tough in front of the net. Lastly Ozzy probably played the best game of the season, if that's Ozzy of the playoffs then we will be fine.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 (edited) Great game tonight, especailly so because it was the second of a back to back. Osgood played a great game. If we have goaltending like that in the playoffs, we'll win the Stanley cup. Awesome for Hossa to get his 40th. I can't believe Flip got that penalty when he floored MacArthur. Unbelievable. Otherwise he was great. He really does make those small plays in the defensive zone better than anyone but Hossa or Datsyuk. And Stuart has a huge shot, I wish he'd play more on the PP. Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Where are all the Ozzy bashers tonight? When the opposition score goals, they come out of the wood work, when Ozzie saved this team's bacon in the 1st period, the bashers don't even show face... Funny how that works. You are just as bad, if not worse, than the fabled Osgood bashers. You ***** when people do complain about Ozzie and ***** when they don't. Would you be happier if people were bitching about it tonight? I really think you would.

Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Just got back from watching the State game. That was depressing. Glad to see the Wings could cheer me up a little bit. Although a roast beef sandwich from Arby's at the cost of zero dollars would have made me even happier.

clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Datsyuk took over the +/- lead, krechji (boston) has 37, datsyuk got 38 now, 41 last season... Lock for selke? I think for sure, because he should be in contention for the Hart, but won't get it as we all know. They'll throw him the Selke bone.

Good game from Ozzy--but lets give credit where credit is due, right Mr.Sandman? lets give credit to the great defensive effort of the Wings Defense, thats right, the Wings Defense, after all thats who's fault it is every time Ozzy gives up a softy!! right Mr.Sandman? so it must have been a fantastic Defensive effort by the D tonight to hold Buffalo to just 1 goal!! So... you didn't watch the first 10 minutes of the game? Ozzie kept this game from a potential blow-out. He made two HUGE saves in the first 5 minutes to keep the Wings in it. Finally, the defense (and offense) did show up. We had great puck possession after the team woke up. It's nice to see that you give credit where credit is due. *I say offense because we kept charging at them in the third despite we had the lead. Which is good to see; when they sit back, we lose. EuroTwin 240 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I think if Conklin was in net we would have won 7 to -4. How does that grab you? Wouldn't that mean we'd win 11-0? Though I am interested in your idea of negative goals... of course I'm sure we'd get some everytime Homer stepped on the ice.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Conklin would have outplayed Osgood so much that he actually would have erased previous goals scored against us.
Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I think if Conklin was in net we would have won 7 to -4. How does that grab you? It doesn't. Being a Red Wing fan, I root for the entire team and stand by them through thick & thin / win or lose. Not single out any one player when they are winning, especially when that player is doing what he is suppose to (ex- last's night's game Ozzy was solid and helped carry the team to get their 50th win). But that's just me. My comment must of touched a nerve. It's just interesting that LGW's members login to bash a player after one bad goal, making for a needlessly long and useless thread. But when that player saves the team from embarrassment the very next night, those same posters run and hide like cowards. It's just funny how that works. People don't get mad after one bad goal; they get mad because when he lets in that one bad goal it is a continuation of the extremely below par performance he has put up this year. Yet everyone is like "ohh in your face ozzie bashers!!!" when he has a good game..a...good game. He's played pretty good twice in a row now, great for him, and he had that one little streak about a month ago. Aside from that there have been a couple games here and there only that didn't leave most people disappointed in him. I'm the first to admit, I'm critical when he's bad but I still love the guy, always have, always will but you, I and everyone on this board know that what he has shown this season is far less than we could ever expect of him. I know the D hasn't been the greatest either but that's what a goalie is for, when shots get past the D. With that being said, if he can continue to play like he did today, I have full confidence in him in the playoffs and think we can win the cup without question because that's the Ozzie I know, not this imposter who has been here the majority of the season. Maybe he really just can't get into it mentally untill the playoffs, it doesn't mean enough, who knows, but if he's ready for the playoffs, that's all that matters. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Yesterday was a great overall effort by the offense, defense, and goaltending. The end. Gotta love how some lame asses want to be fault finding in a very obviously dominating Wings performance.
