Holmstrom96 347 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 All are on FSD. In fact, I don't think that any Wings playoff games have been cut out of viewing in MI in the last 12+ years that I have been a fan. Why start the panicking now without doing any research into it? I've got my panties in a wad over which will be blacked out. I sure hope versus is blacked out because I get FS-D in HD, but versus I do not get in HD. Plus versus blows donkey compaired to Ken and Mickey.
South Dakota wings fan 7 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 Pretty sure of this too. I just hope I get a TSN option for them since I'm a bit tired of Ken and Mickey. Blasphemy! I'd rather have Center Ice carry Ken and Mickey than the Columbus broadcast. Kind of looking forward to hearing them instead of Edzo on Vs.
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 There's 16 teams, man, so Versus cannot show ALL Wings games. It being on TSN is absolutely a good thing for Center Ice subscribers. First two rounds have always been shown for me, via DirecTV. I hope you're right. I don't see anything listed on Directv on Center Ice after the 12th. It seems in the past we've gotten TSN on Directv, but it's been haphazard and periodic, depending on what Canadian teams they deigned to show. As you'll probably all read later on this thread, the first round and probably the second round of Deetroit games will be on FSN-D. We get the DTV sports package, so we should get to see those games. If not....hell hath no fury like a Wings' fan scorned....
Ontario Wingsfan 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 The games are actually on TSN2, not TSN. Great So thanks to Rogers i'm going to be forced to watch the series on some s***ty pixelated internet feed.
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 I just checked Versus and they will be showing hockey games on Wednesday and Thursday night on Directv but don't bother telling us which games they will be.

auxlepli 17 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 I've been flaming away at this crap all morning. It does appear we're screwed if we live outside Detroit. Basically, it looks like the Philly/s***sburgh series will get all the TV coverage. I wonder why. The fact that the Wings get the NHL its only good ratings apparently hasn't dawned on the league yet. I'm glad the League, Versus and NBC are spreading the wealth with other teams and not showing the Red Wings all the time.

The schedule wasn't released more than 12 hours ago and its takes time for them to load that into their system. Give it a day or two and I bet our receivers will be updated with each game listed accordingly.

I'd rather have Center Ice carry Ken and Mickey than the Columbus broadcast. Kind of looking forward to hearing them instead of Edzo on Vs. I've seen Ken and Mickey over 50 times this season, I'd like a little bit of Gord Miller, or if I'm lucky enough, Joe Bowen. I hope you're right. I don't see anything listed on Directv on Center Ice after the 12th. To the bold, they're rarely this fast, but rest assured they will get some sort of schedule up, or it will simply show up on your satellite guide. I brain farted in my first post forgetting the first round is always swept by FSD for people with the local feed. I kinda have a feeling I'll be given the FSD feed but I actually prefer this time to get TSN, which I now doubt will happen knowing it's pushed off to the deuce. I wouldn't pay attention to his post. I'm outside Detroit and am going to do just fine. Last season other playoff teams didn't get the Versus love (which I consider good for them), but what's weird to me is Boston has it worse than the Wings, getting ONE game on Versus, in their series against the Habs, which should be good for rivalry's sake. redwingfan19 293 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 OMG, this is ridiculous f*** TSN2 And why the hell is blackhwaks-flames on TSN.... I thought CBC covered the canadian teams I am so pissed right now
Esquire 324 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 I hope so. TSN's schedule is listing all games on TSN2 though?. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=11796 Directly to the right of that list are the schedules for both TSN and TSN2. I'm PRAYING that link you provided just means it's "available" on TSN2 and not exclusive to that channel. It would be pure insanity if Canada got zero coverage of the first round series featuring the defending Cup champions.

I thought CBC covered the canadian teams I am so pissed right now Somehow the Sharks and Ducks are all on CBS. It's ridiculous this is why i hate the NHL TV coverage. The NBA does this just fine by showing almost every game.
C-Dub 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 I have Versus and FSN-D through the DirecTV Sport Pack. If NHL Center Ice is indeed done for the season, I can actually watch FSN-D. Otherwise, since it is not my local station, it was always blackout when the game was on Center Ice, which is like every game.

I don't think FOX (or the NHL) would ever let that happen for free during the playoffs. The only time I've seen FSD have Wings games for out-of-market people without Center Ice is either during a free preview, or, during the preseason. What's weird to me is, I haven't heard a peep about what the NHL Network might be covering.

I am already paying $300 a year for Sunday Ticket, I can't justify another $150 for Center Ice or whatever it costs. Sucks...here we go streaming!

As I said earlier, I wish this happened last year as opposed to this year, because last year the Wings playoffs games were streamed, and in pretty good quality no less. I used them whenever the reception went off during storms. This year atdhe isn't the same as it was before, thus I'll have to exclusively rely on streaming, with the s***ty possibility that the stream will freeze up in OT or something like that. I blame this all on Bettman and him putting his baby Penguins all over TV so he can wack it to his boy Crosby.

evilmrt 636 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 If I had to guess, I would say the NHL Network will be broadcasting the CBC games, which is basically the Habs/Bruins series. They have been airing HNIC all year. As far as the Hawks/Flames series, I'm really surprised that CBC isn't carrying it. I heard funding was cut for sports, but thats rediculous. Also, Center Ice is supposed to run for the first two rounds of the playoffs...this is in the terms when you purchase the package. I have a feeling for us out-of-market Wings fans that they will go with FSN feeds over TSN...I haven't seen one TSN feed in HD on Center Ice, and the SD feeds look like crap.
