Questions from a Blue Jackets fan...

The Joe Louis Parking garage is located in Northville, Michigan. Take 275 N and get off at 7 Mile. The signs will take you to it. It's $75 to park there, and you can hop on the metro to take you to the Joe.

There is no such place as Greektown, and thus, no casino there. In fact, the area that you are being told to go to is actually a crack house. You'll probably get robbed. Best keep away from there.

The doors open at 9 P.M. for Game 2, which is Monday night. Start time for the game is 11 P.M. due to scheduling conflicts.

:) Please don't take this seriously.

well how the hell can he? I mean you got so much wrong its not even funny....

Its Northville... YES. But its I-275N to 8-Mile. hang a left and park in what could be called the Meijer parking lot. Look for a metro in the version of a Black Kia Spectra. Oh and the cost is $100 actually from that distance :D

Or you can just buy me a ticket to the game and i will waive my $100 fee :D

*EDIT* for an extra $50 i will toss in a tour of Lidstroms house AND Osgoods along the way down to the JLA

Thanks to everyone for all your help.

I have decided on the following:

I am not going to park at the JLA Garage because of price and trouble exiting.

I am not going to park near Hockeytown Cafe or at the Greektown lot because I don't want to have to struggle getting on the people mover after the game.

By looking at this map (http://www.cobocenter.com/parking_parking_map.php) I have decided to park at eaither the COBO HALL GARAGE or the COBO ROOF DECK.

Which is better? Easier to get out? Cheaper?

Tanks oen final time...

The series is seven games, but if you win four before they play seven games, they don't play the rest of them....oh sorry :P

Greektown parking garage is free ONLY IF you validate your ticket inside the casino. This is not difficult however. They have automatic machines for this.

Welcome to the boards!

Not anymore

I always park near Anchor Bar / Cobo Joes / The Post and walk over from there. Fastest in and out I have ever had, no people mover, no shuttle, etc. It is off of Congress.

GREEKTOWN!

I'm confused about all this Greektown parking validation talk. I've used Greektown for every game this year and it's the easiest possible route (not to mention completely free!). There is no validation required, no cost, and there is a people mover station INSIDE the same building as the casino.

The exit off I-375 literally takes you STRAIGHT to the parking structure. No downtown driving, heavy traffic, or maneuvering side streets. There is always a bunch of open spots towards the top of the structure. Just take one of the 5 or so elevators to the casino level. The walk from the structure, through the walkway, past (or through) the casino is brightly lit with security.

People mover is 50 cents a ride and will be filled with hockey fans doing the same exact thing.

You have plenty of great restaurant choices in Greektown with excellent food! Oh and exiting the structure is easy with no backed up traffic.

Watch out for people going the wrong way since some of them can't read the big sign that says "turn left only." I'm so glad that guy turned into the one level. I would have been pissed if he hit me.

I couldn't tell you which one was cheaper because I'm not sure what they raised the ticket prices to. My guess would be that they're about even. My dad and I usually park on Cobo Roof Deck.. we've never parked in the actual garage.

My boyfriend and I always (used) to get there really early and park on the ground floor of the Cobo Garage. I think it cost between 10-20 dollars, fyi. Very easy to get out, we never had trouble with people letting us out of the parking spot, but I think the garage closes at a specific time so make sure you note when/if the garage closes when you get there.

Alas, I have not been to a Wings game or the Joe in over a year. Stupid California. Have a great time!

I was just on the Cobo Roof a week ago Sunday. I park at Greektown if and take the aforementioned People Mover if I'm eating in Greektown, otherwise I ALWAYS park on Cobo Roof.

Cost is a tenner ($10)

Shows you wear the ramp is. Easy access to the Lodge Freeway after the game.

The Ambassador Bridge Project is going to mess your trip up. Full directions:

Have fun!

For the 6 games that I've been to I've parked at Greektown garage for free. The one time I went to the CCHA finals I had to pay 10 or 15...it was random, and stupid. And the 6 wings games I went to I didn't have to grab a ticket or anything, it was all auto up gates lol. The People Mover isn't had after the games, just a lot of Wings fans :P The last game I went to there were 3 drunk Czech guys that were in their 20's and they barely spoke any english. It was hilarious to hear them singing in Czech and then they sang a Czech and failed english versions of Happy Birthday to some girl they met on it.
