wingfan1991 221 Report post Posted April 15, 2009 http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_dadd...?urn=nhl,156002 sad article.. hopefully the place is full tomorrow and full of WINGS fans!!
Nic 59 Report post Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) It is sad, but damn. ""I'd be lying if I didn't say Columbus fans were extremely excited, and it's great for the league," said Red Wings spokesman John Hahn. "We're at the other end of the spectrum." That spectrum, he said, includes 18 consecutive trips to the playoffs and four hoistings of the Stanley Cup." I'd love to go to another game if i could afford it. People in charge up here really think we don't go to games because we're just jaded? If they were so desparate to sell seats, maybe they should give the hometown fans better prices, rather than ringing up the out of town fans personally with bigger discounts. Full Price Ticket US $40.00 x 1 Total Convenience Charge(s) US $6.25 x 1 Order Processing Charge(s) US $4.35 Will Call No Charge TOTAL CHARGES US $50.60 $50 for 2nd from top row of the upper bowl, for ONE ticket. Not exactly feasible for a lot of people. (and this being before transportation, parking, etc) I mean i know it is playoff time, but wouldn't it make sense to make the seats cheaper and fill em rather than lose all that money all together? I know they'd probably make up some of the difference on concessions/beer/souvineers. I wouldn't be able to and i know a lot of people wouldn't either, but people are gonna buy stuff when they go to the game if they can... I know a hell of a lot of people that would kill to go to a game. Edited April 15, 2009 by Nic

Cern 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2009 Man, I know the economical impact is different over there, but even playoff tickets at JLA are an absolute steal compared to here. Just getting a regular-season upper bowl ticket for GM Place is ridiculously expensive.
lfd250 1 Report post Posted April 15, 2009 Really! again? We get it. Ticket prices suck. This isn't shocking anymore. Did you post this so Brandon could have a FU! Illitch on his Birthday?
Ms_Hockey 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2009 It's not really that big of a deal. We have the worst economy in the country.. it's not surprising that when people are faced with a choice of feeding their family for a week/catching some shut eye to go look for a job or paying $200 for playoff tickets - they're going to go with option one. If the Columbus fans want to come to our arena - be my guest. More money for the Red Wings organization.

NvrFrgtRussian5 85 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 I'll be at game 1 tomorrow with my brother. Three of those Tim Horton tix ($30) ending up being like $125 after all the stupid fees. And they are not good seats. But its the playoffs so Im pumped anyhow. Hopefully we don't have any empty seats. We need to show CBJ who is boss.
