Great effort tonight. Everyone came out flying and hitting, which is completely different than what we saw in the regular season. Maltby looked like an animal out there.

Likewise, Ozzie played differently than what we've seen the rest of the season. He saved the team from the horrendous officiating early on with some key saves.

The key of course is conistency, since it's only 1 game. We can't get too ahead of ourselves.

My only concern is with Cleary playing on the 2nd line. He plays hard, but I still don't think of him as a top 6 forward.

Also, what happened with Lebda? I didn't see him out there for most of the game?

No you don't get it, if lidström only plays 21:40 and they still manage to play a solid game it can only be good down the stretch, he will probably need to play 25-28minutes deeper in the playoffs.

Now THAT's what I was looking for, mindfly :)

!!!!????????? Maybe you'd like him to play defense too? Get the hell real.

For the 2nd time Osgood was great he kept us in the game in the 1st and made amazing saves, what i was trying to say was he made all those great saves and got beat by one that was a lot softer than the 2 on 1 save he had i'm not criticizing osgood he played great its just i thought that, that was a weak goal to let in when he had such great saves

I don't get it..

Ok, the Hawks and Flames are now in the second intermission. But at the time the Flames had just scored. I thought I'd throw it on the board?

Just thought I'd report a score from another Western conference playoff game.

Next time you don't need to talk amongst yerselves. You could just ask me what I meant?

:lookaround:

If you can't bastardize a quote from Apocalypse Now, what can you bastardize?

How true, how true! Now, I'm trying to figure out what player/coach/exec might be saying it.

But I don't need to go there. It struck me as funny as hell, and perfect timing.

If you are a defenseman and you aren't noticed, then you are doing your job.

I think in the third period there was a time he was flying back up the ice to retrieve the puck. Except for Stuart and Rafalski early, everybody had a great game. Even Malts played his ass off especially in the third. And the grind line never let up. Helm will only get better once he gets the upscaled speed going.

And the physical intensity! They have to feel good to finally let loose like that and pound everything in sight - especially the puck. They actually looked like they were having fun. And you could almost see the energy and focus drain from them little tykes on the ice.

And Ozzie. I am so happy for him and so proud of him. But I do wish he could have slowly removed his glove at the end of the game, raise his index finger and thrust it in the air and say something like, "This is for all you loser-fans out there who never kept the faith".

But that's ok. I'll take the win instead.

When I first logged on here the victory mark wasn't up, so I thought we lost. But reading the past few pages, it looks like all is well! So glad to hear Ozzie is back to form.

Couple of questions: What did Ozzie say during his interview?

How did the defense hold up?

Was the Joe 50% full of BJs?

Rhetoric.

Good enough for game one.

Was the Joe 50% full of BJs?

This is a family forum.
