Antilles328 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2009 (edited) Correct me if I'm wrong but Datsyuk has a tendency for road points in the playoffs. Last year he had 6 points (1G 5A) at home and 17 points (9G 8A) on the road. Home/Away was split 11 games a piece. I'm assuming it's because he typically is used defensively against the other teams top line when we have the benefit of last change at home. On the road, the other coaches try to get Datsyuk away from their top line and as a result Datsyuk can take more of an offensive role, resulting in more points. So Datsyuk has 1 G, 2 A tonight. Wings roll 5-2. Go Wings! Edited April 21, 2009 by Antilles328

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 21, 2009 Everyone talks about Nash being a Wings killer, but Datsyuk is a beast against Columbus as well, is he not? I can't remember the exact numbers but he averages like 2 points a game against them or something.
Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted April 21, 2009 Dats and the rest of the team will need to raise their game as the series shifts to Columbus. The Wings are going to need to come out strong because the Jackets will be hungry and ready for their first playoff win. Let's not let that happen.

Turretin 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2009 I expect a lot from Datsyuk every night; and he gives it. He has played well in Games 1 and 2. His offense has been good, but his all around game is amazing. Lids and Rafi are great, but everyone keeps forgetting how much of a role the forwards play in shutting down Nash. It is so awesome that he must be planned around in both offense and defense. My favorite player: Pavel Datsyuk.
