Quite a character.

And hell, the highest I've ever done is like 115. I don't think I've owned a car yet that wouldn't fall to pieces doing much more than that.

What an idiot, he is clearly shaken up from the death of his brother, as I imagine his parents are too, and he drives cars at those high speeds........say Alex, ever thought about the hell your parents would go through if they lost 2 sons???? It is stuff like this that makes it so much easier for me to take Crosby's side in this rivalry.

Sorry, but you'd be a ****** just like Crosby, then, if you'd be that ignorant about his situation and take "sides" over said ignorance. Why? Ovie's PARENTS encouraged him (if you actually did watch the video) to live for today, rather than worry about tomorrow, so obviously they just want him to enjoy his life, instead of being scared (for their own selfish sake) of losing another child just because he's having fun.

His parents wanted him to play to keep his mind off his brother.

And Ovie is a BAMF.

Hands down.

Takes things a little too carelessly, but that just adds to his bad ass attitude.

You're right, i bet if AO lost control and hit a tree or a guardrail going 180 mph and was killed instantly before the age of 25 i'm sure his parents would just shrug it off and wouldn't regret saying oh well, we encouraged him to "have fun" while he was here.....I guarantee they would. By the way, living for today does not constitute going 180 miles per hour, only stupidity does; and just because someone tells you that you can do something, doesn't mean you should take it to the utmost....... like if you're a guest in someone's house and they tell you to "make yourself at home" most people wouldn't start belching out loud, walking around the house in just a pair of shorts, leave dishes lying around like they might if they really were at their own home, its the same concept here; bottom line: Ovie needs to use his head more

I don't usually do this but your a tool, man. How is it any buisness of yours how Ovie drives and who cares what side of this imaginary war that Crosby and Ovie have you fall on. People that are not to far up Crosby's ass don't see it as a war but two great players. Oh and Ovie wins any way. You are far annoying. Oh well. Nothing you said makes sense. Call Ovie and tell him he is a bad, bad, boy and he needs go to his room. You make the internet scary... How is the weather from your high horse?

I'm gonna go thorugh this point by point for you

1. You calling me a tool when you have that awesome display pic by your name is hilarious

2. It's not my business to tell Ovie how fast he should drive, I am simply saying that anyone that drives that fast on a regular street or highway is an idiot and being that his family already lost one son that obviously has left some deep scars, he clearly doesn't use his head and realize what the potential negative effects of doing something that reckless is.

3. I am not "to far up Crosby's ass" and if i was i would be "too far up Crosby's ass"...I'm guessing somebody didn't pay attention in spelling class

4. It is most certainly a rivalry between Crosby and Ovie, when people like Wayne Gretzky are comparing those two to Magic and Larry then it is most certainly a rivalry

5. Ovie does not "win anyway" Crosby is a superior passer, a better leader, has better vision on the ice, has had more postseason success, isn't afraid to stick up for teammates and drop the gloves, and is a better shooter......Ovechkin had more than double Crosby's shots on goal and had only 23 more goals, if Crosby had taken 290 more shots to equal the amount Ovechkin had in the regular season, he would have had close to 70 goals......also Ovechkin has better linemates than Crosby. Ovechkin is much faster and more physical than Crosby, but offensively speaking, he's a carbon copy of Pavel Bure.... he'll have 6 or 7 50-60 goal seasons (which is excellent, don't get me wrong), but because he plays the game with such reckless abandon and relies on his speed, by his late 20s his body will begin to breakdown thus reducing his speed, and once that is gone he will lose the cornerstone of what made him such a great player in the first place, and his production will drop off sharply. They are both great players, but from an all around perpective, Crosby is superior. Ovechkin has highlight reel goals regularly, and is exciting to watch but he is not a better all around player, it's as simple as that.

This rant you're on makes little sense at all, especially to someone like him. He is an outgoing, risk taking person. He would be someone else if he was this way. Love him or hate him, he is who he is.

Now, the problem I had with your original post is you presumed his parents would have a problem with his "risk taking" -- they did not, and furthermore encouraged it, knowing he is an adult and will do what he finds best for himself. Obviously his parents understand the same thing he does, so why is it you need to give some Dr. Phail lecture on him like you know better for his life than he does?

And living for today does mean that. Rich people who buy sports/supercars are noted for pushing them that fast. This is not out of the norm either. What's clear to me is you need to step outside the box for a second and out of some idealistic lifestyle you obviously are pressing for him to have. I'm happy at least his parents are supportive of him being who he is.

Listen, if i came off as though i was lecturing to Ovechkin then I apologize, it was not my intent. I was simply floored that someone could be so short-sighted as to the long term effects of doing something like this, especially with his family's tragedy. With that being said, I believe you are correct that if he didn't act the way he did, he wouldn't be the fantastic hockey player that he is.
