Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 I wish Lilja could play in this series. After that game 5 in 2007, he'd have brought an extra gear this time around.

teckaholic 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 For the Ducks to win this is what needs to happen: Stay out of the penalty box....yeaaa right...So Awesome PK Teemu needs to be a factor Hiller needs to stay Hiller Marchant will need to be key in faceoffs Ducks 4th line needs to outplay the Wings The Ducks 4th line is lookin kinda dangerous w/ Ryan Carter there
swedishconnection 36 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Anyone watching the Sharks series (I live in CA) should have seen a team with no edge and no heart playing a team with nothing to lose. I was watching, with my darling born and bred in MI and I was screaming that they did not make the smart plays. Wings in 5. Tough series, but this is what the Hockey Gods demand- blood sacrafice. Not everthing is a cake walk. Sometimes you have to have your pound of flesh on the dish. Heart, skill, grit, Defense take this series. Wings make up for 2 years ago. The nay-sayers always talk about having to go through the cup-champs to win ultimate glory. This is as close as the wings have. Classy vs. Edge. Skill vs. Edge. Heart vs. Edge. All we have to do is push..... We got em... LETS GO RED WINGS!!!
Wingnut in WA 86 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 I think our pp and depth will just be too much for them to handle. We win in
Wingnut in WA 86 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 PS see my avitar of me letting Getzlaf know whats up at the Ponda last January. Thats how we roll
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 If we light Hiller up early and throw his head off, this will be over quick. 4-5 games. But that could be a big "if." Memories of that other (.........funny now.......) Ducks goalie in round 1 years back still breed irrational fear.............
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Wings in 6. Wings win Games 1, 3, 4, and 6. Perry's gonna get OWNED by either Helm, Kronner, Stewie or Dats. Maltby's gonna have a big series. Yeah I just said that.
teckaholic 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 If I was a Wings fan I would be a tiny bit nervous. And I do mean tiny. The Ducks D was 100% under rated in this series. Hiller played well but the rebounds were not there for "tiny" joe

sharomyga 6 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Crap! This is going to get expensive. drfnr14 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 this will be "THE GOALIE"series. the games and how the series ends up on how the goalies play. yeah detroits got the power up front and can put pucks to the net. if hillers tip top its gonna be hard. and we all cant act like ana doesnt put pucks on net. ozzys gonna have to play tip top to let the wings take this series

I think we are all just really excited for this match up and want retribution for 2007.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Wings in 5. I'm strangely confident for this re-match. Lest we forget that Theodore looked "awesome, great, unstoppable, like a wall, etc" until we faced him. You could say the same for Mason too.
puckbags 863 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Mlive is saying the the Wing's anticipate games 1 and 2 will be Friday and Sunday !!
teckaholic 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 You could say the same for Mason too. Dont use that as a example. The BJ's had hardly ANY playoff experience and Mason is much younger than Hiller. Also, Hiller has experience in tournament playoffs. Mason also didnt have one of the best d'cores in front of him
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Mlive is saying the the Wing's anticipate games 1 and 2 will be Friday and Sunday !! NOOO not Friday. Please no.
teckaholic 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 I hope not Friday as well. If the Ducks/Wings are on NBC (which it probably will), the damn Cleveland Indians are on and they dont put the game on till after the baseball game!!
puckbags 863 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 The Ducks are a one line hockey team...shut down Getz, Perry and Ryan and this series is over !! Hiller had a bored looking Sharks team shooting on him. He didnt face anything that compared to the likes of Hossa, Dats, Franzen, Z. Pronger looked good in this series because the Sharks looked slow...it wont be the same in this series...we will make that big dumby look stupid. If The Z line with Lids and Raf can shut down the Getzlaf line it is over. I like our chances.

Also, Hiller has experience in tournament playoffs. Mason also didnt have one of the best d'cores in front of him Good point. Maybe I'll just use the excuses thrown our way about how well Turco was playing last year in the playoffs? Or how Fleury was a dominant young rookie in his playoff run. Are those more applicable for you?
Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Crap! This is going to get expensive. Being that I live 20 minutes from the Honda Center, it's hard to not start looking for tix! ya exactly what I was thinking.. I might have to go to more then 1 game this round haha anyways.. ducks in
skacore 2 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Ducks in 6, top line is too strong downlow and dominant when they want to be, big D who can actually move our forwards from the net, guys willing to battle a little harder, much hungrier depth players, much more team toughness and playoff built.
