What a horrible article. I'm more embarassed of that OCR writer than Octomom and the OC Horsewives combined.

This is the second time in as many days I've heard someone from the stuck up West coast make entirely ignorant comments. It's become entirely clear that they are so obsessed with materialistic issues and money that they have nothing better to do than to make fun of people's misfortunes. Good work LA, keep it classy.

I'm over it.

People always bring up Detroit and its economy.. even when the majority of us don't live in Detroit or that lifestyle.

Let 'em talk. That's all it is, anyway. No reason to get upset over it.

Where was the slide on all the SMOG the OC creates everyday?

What about the greatest gift the OC ever gave the world, that stupid ***** Paris Hilton?

When was the last Superbowl the OC hosted?

NCAA Mens Final 4?

What about the slide where the writer just realized the Ducks are a hockey team and are in the playoffs?

How about a slide showing a bunch of barron, burnt fields compared to the lush greenery surrounding the state with the largest fresh water supply?

See, I can grasp at straws too, maybe I should apply for a job at the OC Register.

don't have much else to say. it reads like an eight year old going, "HAHAHAHAHAHA IT'S FUNNY 'CAUSE WE'RE RICH AND YOU'RE POOR HAHAHAHAHAHAHA." <_< because obviously all of detroit's problems stem from michigan being populated with stupid, inept people and california is weathy because everyone there is smart and beautiful. f*** off. see you on the ice, *******.

Pretty classless.

I'm going to pull some tricks to get them banned from google adsense. That web site doesn't deserve to make any money.

That article wasn't even the part that bugged me..

The fact it has no end does. It just abruptly stops.

Is there more to the article or is the last sentence actually:

"OK, so Detroit also spawned Motown. But also remember that Berry Gordy Jr. eventually moved Motown to Los Angeles. For those of you stuck back in Hockeytown Los Angeles is a suburb of the OC."

If it is, then they are not only a poor writer with poor form, but a biased and unintelligent one at that. I'm in grade 11 and I write better articles that he does. I hope that was a charity article that he didn't get paid for.

Only in the OC >.>

That's hilarious! I often drive my Lexus to the local municipality and set up a quaint little picnic for myself, unpack my steak dinner and enjoy a nice, well-aged pinot noir while laughing and pointing at those filing for unemployment. Is there anything funnier than that???

From an Orange County resident, my sincere apologies.

I'd like to say that we're not all like that but, (unfortunately), the majority of OC residents are well represented by the tripe espoused in that piece of trash, written by that piece of trash.

Of course, few who have this "superiority complex" remember the days when it was "ghetto" to live "behind the Orange curtain", and folks only migrated to Orange County because they couldn't afford to live in Los Angeles.

Few who have this "superiority complex" can harken back to the days when "the OC" used to be what Riverside is today. Anyone from SoCal knows what I'm talking about.

We have good weather, true. We also have despoiled, RUINED beaches and PUD's instead of neighborhoods. We have no space. As a community, (not necessarily as individuals....but as a County), we're cramped, crowded, over-commercialized, self-entitled, shallow, materialistic, and so afraid that someone might one day take the time to actually look closely at us, and realize that all we are is plastic, silicone, collagen, designer labels, and spray tans, and that our "superiority complex" is nothing more than a defense mechanism, like the bully who acts tough because he's so afraid.

We're spoiled. We have everything. Well.....almost everything....

Suffering builds character. That? We don't have.

Chin up, Detroit.

Your city, and cities like yours, are the backbone of this nation. The heart and soul of the American middle class. You bear the brunt of it when things go south, when things turn sour and ugly.

It's a good thing, too. Because you're strong enough to take it where other cities, cities with less heart, less determination, less PRIDE, couldn't. Kinda like that once golden mecca of affluence and shining dreams, Los Angeles, who failed the test, and has become largely a slum as a result.

There are a few of us, a FEW, who still remember the who/what/where/why/when and how of what made this nation a great nation, and who recognize what it is which is causing it to rot from the inside out.

We could all stand a little more RED BLOOD, and a LOT LESS Prozac, pumping through our veins.

Detroit will rise again. And when it does, it will be better, and stronger, than ever. Because it will have passed through the worst of the fire just to stay alive.

Having been born 50 miles from Detroit and lived half of my life there and in Southern California, I'll say this:

f*** THE WEST COAST

Other than my family (that stayed behind) and the Mexican food, there isn't a whole lot I miss about the west coast. Traffic, pollution, heat, cost of living and the stupid ******* people that live there make me sick. Great place to vacation, though... I'll be there in June, before I (hopefully) transfer to Italy.

Post of the week. Excellent post.

Your post makes me proud to support Detroit and the Red Wings, bravo.

You morons do realize this is exactly the reaction they want? Get the Detroit fans fired up and that means more hits for their site.

Name calling.. classy.
