kolo 10 Report post Posted May 3, 2009 Well, Draper was in full jersey before GAME 1, I saw him skating around. I guess to just mess around, Whats the point if hes not going to play? Couldn't he just wait till the morning skate. Any other thoughts on this?
numberthirtynine 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2009 Didn't Babs last year keep whatshisname out even when he got healthy because he didn't want to risk even the little move ruining chemistry? Drapes can be a great addition, despite his reg season, like Maltby. I hope Kopecky sits. He's been invisible even on the 4th line. No jump in his game at all. He doesn't fit here. From Flip, to Malts, to any of the usual whipping boys we needlessly rag on, he's the only one I'll say does not feel like a Wing. Sit him, and line up Helm, Drapes and Malts as the 4th line. KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted May 3, 2009 If Drapes was 100% he'd be back for sure. Bab could keep Rafalski out for a while cause we're up as of now and people could replace Rafalski. Draper on the other hand has the faceoff which is really important in this series cause most of the games will come down to the line.
NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted May 3, 2009 Maybe Draper isn't healthy, but Babs and him are conspiring, in order to: a. make the opponents worry that the Wings' top faceoff man is on the verge of returning, and b. light a fire under the asses of Maltby (if so, it's been very effective) and Kopecky (limited effectiveness). Babs will not be able to sit Helm or Maltby because they are playing like they want it. Kopecky is weak on the puck and weak off of the puck. He has a poor shot selection and cannot stay on his 2 feet. I know he didn't play in the playoffs last season and the team might feel like they owe it to him, but his play does not justify keeping him in the lineup when Draper returns. Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 3, 2009 Why not let Draper warm up on the ice if he's healthy enough for it?
