GO TO THE NET

Just to point out the obvious, the Wings spent game 2 on the perimeter again. Last year, it looked like the team overcame that hurdle of learning how to pay the price and play BETWEEN the face-off circles. This year, it looks like Hossa is leading the "40 footer into Hiller's chest" shot brigade (Did Hossa ever play for Lewis?!!!). The COACH is the one that has to notice this and make the adjustment. I hope we see it in Game 3, or Babcock is just going to make Hiller's save percentage sky rocket and give the Ducks more confidence.

The wings really need to go to the net more, and stop living with outside shots. They also need to pick up the play in their own zone, they played lazy at times. 2 break aways that ozzie had to stop by bad plays.

I agree. I don't like it when Osgood is being pushed outside of the crease and Hiller only gets a little bit of snow after the whistle. That's lame.

The Wings have been going to the net. Part of their game also is they try to generate offense by shooting from plenty of places. Nothing new here. You never know when a goofy rebound might occur. Sometimes the goalie just plays a great game. It happens.

Seems to happen a lot against the wings <_< For the later part of the game I think the wings were trying to hard to get the shot up high on hiller, and he was just gloving them or they were sailing wide.

Not sure if you noticed or not but a 30 footer managed to win the game.. some fluky goals happen.

Although i do agree that we are taking to many perimeter shots.. need to crash more.. Hiller was way to comfy tonight without big bodies in front.

And whats with all of the shots being high glove side.. well i know why but cant shoot in the same place everytime.

That's because we have Osgood. Most goalies come up with that save. Osgood is 4-8 in OT. Enough said.

Actually, I disagree. There was traffic in front, and I don't think he even saw the shot. Regardless he took away the angle and at least made it a tough shot. I'm not usually an Osgood lover or basher but he's played outstanding thus far, we wouldn't have been in that game if not for him. Btw, you could also say that most goalies would have come up with the saves on those softies Hiller let through and we shouldn't even have been tied in that game.

Osgood wasn't the sole or main reason the Wings lost yesterday. Putting all the blame on him is ridiculous.
