What can we as fans do?

I am not really a conspiracy theorist, but after the NBA reffing scandal, I really am starting to think that the NHL wants the Wings to lose. Every single game the Reffing has been brutal, most especially this one. To me at least, it is not inconcivable to see the higehr ups in the NHL making sure the Wings lose so a "Bettman Expansion" team can win once again, despite being outshot 2-1 and outhit 2-1.

While my bitching will surley comfort you and there are other threads coming out on this, what can we do as fans to say we will not let such sub standard reffing occur? I'm a modest living 18 year old, yet have paid for tickets with my own hard money. We are consumers, there has to be a way we can actually let them know what a f***up job they are.

What a bunch of bulls***, just because a ref decided to be a dickhead and blow his whistle early, the goal doesn't count? Just because he wanted to be an *******, the whole play is not reviewable? What the hell is so hard about going to the replay booth and reviewing it and admitting you made a mistake and counting the goal? f*** that ref.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I honestly HATED the Wings until Sunday. The fans in The Joe really showed me that they are passionate about hockey and they respect the sport! Nobody got in my face (except one dumb drunk) and we talked hockey. Thats a hard thing to do in Cleveland!

For that to be true it would have to be called correctly. Best series is the Caps-Pens because their is no league bias, buttman wins whatever happens there so there will be no foul play.

I agree with teckaholic. You guys got screwed. Honestly, if it hadn't been for that missed call I'm not so sure the Ducks could have pulled off a win.

The reason the goal was not reviewed, however, is because it cannot be. If the referee blows the whistle and waves no goal, when he was intending to blow the whistle before the puck went in the net, it can't be reviewed, because technically the puck never went in during play. Not saying I agree with the rule (though it makes sense) just explaining it. Unfortunately, the ref lots sight of the puck and blew the whistle.

I've been saying there's nothing we Ducks fans can complain about officiating tonight. Detroit got screwed. I'm sorry it ended like that, because I like games without referee hiccups. But, Thursday will be another test, one I am greatly anticipating

Its refreshing to see such a Duck fan, many I know are obviously new to the sport, lack tact, and have terrible etiquette. I also knew just about any rational Ducks fan would agree that was a bad bad call. The biggest solace I take from this all, is it didn't exactly cost the Wings a win, but it robbed fans of both teams of seeing some OT where anything could have happened. This so far has easily been the closet and overall best series this playoffs and we all deserve the most genuine outcome available, rather than have one erroneous ref decide the game himself.
