ChiGuySez 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 I like what I was hearing on 97.1 a little while ago. Everything chicago now sucks and isn't worth our acknowledgements. For instance, I love pizzapopslis style pizzas, you know, those deep ones with everything in the middle, those are called pizzapopalis style. Hotdogs loaded with toppings are now just "a detroit dog with everything".. lol. Buddy Guy's song is now Sweet Home Hamtramck. This is what I'm talking about. Chicago can SUCK IT. You holier than thou people make me sick. This is what this time of year is all about as hockey fans, turning entire geographic sectors of North America against each other. Team vs team, fan vs fan. Take your soft asses over to tennis and golf. This is brutal. Go over to Anahiem and Chicagos message boards and look at the comments about Detroit. From out s***ty cars to our unemployment rate, to our ghetto city abandoned skyscrapers. LOL! It's all good, they've got *** marriage and ugh.. obama. >=) Hmmm RyanK Member Joined: Dec 13, 2008 < < < From: Novi Internet access recently?

06TJSport 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Sometimes I wonder about the karma for a team that has a logo that borderline degrades an entire race of people. Not as bad as the Cleveland Indians logo but still. There logo pays homage to the proud warriors of Native Americans. It means that they hope to have the same spirit and courage going to into the battle of a hockey game that those warriors did going into war. It in no way degrades an entire race of people. The Cleveland Indians logo on the other hand is quite degrading....

My personal opinion varies greatly from the majority and I thought an angry pitchfork mob was gonna come flying through my ethernet cord at one point... I only put the logo in my avatar to show you guys my allegiance. Edited May 15, 2009 by Dr. Gin

This is a hockey discussion board, not a "holier than you" pissing contest. RyanK 1 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Internet access=puberty Yes, I'm obviously a pubescent teenager as being a die hard fan of my team would suggest. How retarded. How can someone claim to be a fan of the Wings and then turn on their biggest fanatics during the playoffs? Some of you are truly unbelievable. Although, I am noticing some rather distant zip codes out there. Maybe you guys are just bandwagon fans who jump on whoever's winning.

That fans from all over come here to chat hockey and stir the rivalries of our favorite teams is just another sign of respect at the end of the day.
redwings8831 40 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Here's another one. http://boards.chicagoblackhawks.com/index....showtopic=33353 Dear Detroit Red Wings Ticket Account Representative / Intern, Congratulations on yet again reaching the Western Conference Finals. It’s nice to see that the Red Wings are giving your city a glimmer of hope, especially as it’s evident that your economy is perhaps, “struggling.†As you may be aware, this recession has reached far beyond Detroit’s beautiful lakefront. As a recent college graduate, I struggle to pay my student loan bills, remain gainfully employed, and find time for my ever budding social life. While my discretionary income is at times limited, I make sure I never miss an opportunity to head over to the United Center and watch the Chicago Blackhawks. As a season ticket holder, I’ve had the opportunity to watch the Blackhawks magical transformation first hand, and it’s been something very special to be apart of. Due to my status as an employed person, like most Americans, I am subject to paying federal income taxes. While taxes are typically used to fund a variety of useful programs, Detroit has been the beneficiary of a questionable bailout at the hands of the average American tax payer, like me. As my taxes continue to fund your inability to manufacture a problem free automobile, it frustrates me that it is my very tax dollars that are allowing residents of Michigan [employed by GM and Chrysler] to purchase tickets to attend games at the Joe Louis arena. Given your recent slew of handouts, I am now asking for one of my own. Would it be possible for you to provide me with four free tickets to either Game 1 or Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals? They don’t even have to be good. I’ll even take standing room only tickets! I think this request is beyond reasonable, given that you’ll have trouble selling your venue out anyway. I will be happy to drive my American made Chrysler product [have had the vehicle for 4 years, and have had 3 major problems] to Detroit and perhaps inflict some dollars into your economy as I take in the Hawks/Red Wings game and later try my luck at the MGM Grand Casino. If this request seems fair, which it is, please free to contact me at your earliest convenience. Finally, I’ll leave you with one final note. Detroit Sucks! Go Hawks! Guest L3T5G0W1NG5 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 u guys seem to pick at every little negative thing hawks fans say about the wings, our team is not perfect, they're allowed to say oh detroit is weak at this, or weak at that. it gives them some motivation. this is going to be a hard fought series, detroit in

Oh BTW, Gin certifiably knows hockey. I might not agree with the viewpoint but can't argee the knowledge. I will take you off if you continue to shower me with compliments, sarcastic as they may be (?). We as Hawk fans have to come together. But seriously, what does everyone expect from a fan message board? It's crazy. The Canuck message board was probably one of the most entertaining things I've ever seen after they lost. According to them, there is a league-wide conspiracy against Canadian teams. I bet if you went to every NHL message board you would find threads arguing an NHL conspiracy against their team in some form. It's silly sillyness of sillying sillyfitry. I never knew how many classless people Chicago harbor until today. Wow It's the same in any city. Some people have class, others don't. You only need look 3-4 posts up to find one of your very classy Wing fans hoping Kane blows a knee out. Not classy in my book. For the most part though you all seem nice enough. Same with Hawk fans. Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Here's another one. http://boards.chicagoblackhawks.com/index....showtopic=33353 Didn't Chicago have a big ordeal with major fraud and embezzlement going on in their mayors and governors? Where's this poster's outrage with all that? Classless breeds more classless; their entire city appears to be fraud.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Well, everyone knows that the salary cap was in fact a conspiracy to break up the Wings legacy. Obviously. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I don't agree with the underlying message. I'm not exactly sure about 97 or 98 but having the highest payroll only worked once for the Wings - 2002. Outside of that year they were first or second round disappointments. 2000-01 - 55.1 - First round exit 2001-02 - 66.6 - Cup 2002-03 - 68.4 - First round exit 2003-04 - 77.9 - Second round exit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_team_...troit_Red_Wings You could say that the salary cap was put in place so that organizations like the Wings and Rangers couldn't 'buy their cups' so to speak. But based on the playoff results from when they were really at the top of the league with Lidstrom getting 10 million a year, it was actually quite disappointing and maybe even a real waste. If I was fair I would wish the original poster of that trash ill will. Instead I'll take solace in the BH's loosing some key players and he as a fan doesnt get to watch them play, and eventually see his team fall to the best in the west >=)

My eyes will be focused on the way the Wings play against Jonathan Toews. I can't really explain it well but he seems like a real dark horse in this series with Kane getting all the flash.
