But apparently since I like hockey fights I'm 12. No wait.. "12 is being generous" .. for f*** sake.
MIN8TV 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 Hawks has every right to be happy about being in the Conference Finals. They have a very solid, fast, and young team. They had an excellent year and turned it up a notch against other teams when trailing in thr 3rd. Who said they shouldn't be happy?
NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 Noone expected the Hawks to get this far, especially Hawk fans. We're pretty happy. I was happy winnign a round, this is just icing on the cake. That said, the Hawks do have the ability to beat you. Don't think it'll happen, but it could. You have to realize the culture in Chicago a bit, the Hawks weren't just BAD for a long time they were absolutely miserable. These past 2 seasons of hockey have been the most exciting thing for hockey fans since the early 90s. I live in Chicago and anyone from here will tell you, there are no fans in sports like the band wagon fans here in Chicago. Its pretty amuzing actually. Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted May 16, 2009 There are more families effected by the american economic crisis than that. In Canada our dollar was worth more than yours before the economic s***storm happened. Hell, it's not just the dollar that's hurting here- the entire province of Ontario is as intertwined with the big 3 as you guys are! The auto industry employed TONS of Canadians in Ontario. Tons. Moving outside NA, everyone's been hit by this. Fricking Iceland went bankrupt because of it. A country went bankrupt! I'm just saying- this isn't about the US economy- this is about the WORLD economy. Indeed. I mentioned the world is hurting in another post. I have some friends in Canada who are also affected by the auto drought. I'm glad that we have hockey to keep our minds off the constant disheartening daily news. Off topic, I'm very much excited about the electric cars, check out Tesla motors if you get the chance. That's our future. That above post touched a very sensitive nerve with me. And it goes to show how classless the administration is to allow posts like that on their forums. People in America are struggling and trying to survive. GM and Chrysler going down is affecting the world, not just Michigan, but the entire United States. Dealerships are dropping like flys, that loses community revenue in so many different aspects from employment to simple radio/tv advertisments... Dealerships have ALWAYS been big assets in communities for the good. This effects everyone. And for a poster to say this stuff is as classless as a person making fun of a *** aides victim who is dying a horrible, slow, painful death... I am appalled by what's going on in your forum right now, absolutely appalled and sicken by how evil and shameful human beings can be... this is just sickening! Shameful! Has to start somewhere... lots of Detroit fans started watching hockey when the Wings began their renascence in the early nineties. Lots of those people remain hardcore Wingnuts to this day. Who's to say it isn't the same situation there? It's sad that the Wings struggled to get fans for so long, but all the power to them now that they've got players worth watching

zrf 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 Well, to be fair, when the Ducks first line was in our zone, we had the hardest time just getting it out. I couldn't breath anytime they were on the ice because non of our defensmen or forwards could contain them. The Hawks don't have a Getzlaf but they have a better offense all around. From top to bottom they can skate and score and have some big bodies too. I don't expect this series to be a cake walk. But it's ironic this poster brings up our 'average' defense. It's Chicago's defense that they should be weary of. Campbell eats up a lot of minutes and he's probably the worst defensman (defensively) in this series. At any rate, I can't wait for this series to start. It's going to be great hockey. Both teams like to skate and push the play. The Ducks are death to the eyes. SOOOO boring. It'll be a nice change to play a team that actually wants to cross the redline when not on a PP. Wrong. Campbell is sloppy and average at best in our own zone, but Matt Walker is, bar none, the WORST player on the ice for either team. He is utterly ******* worthless and an absolute failure as a hockey player. Considering the amount of mistakes Barker makes, it is a TERRIBLE pairing when they are on the ice. If you can't score on these guys you can't score on anybody.
uncle ovipositor 6 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 Dude, grow the fk up. This is a hockey discussion board, not a "holier than you" pissing contest. Wait... You're saying this in defense of RyanK? Seriously? Whoa... Precisely what got me going this morning Sandman. I woke up this morning, a weekday, wishing I could pack my lunch and head into the electrical assembly area of my shop, a GM supplier, but this didn't happen. I am laid off. Instead I decide to go poke around our next rivals forums, and I read this putrid garbage that this scumbag posted and was infuriated. I want the wings to absolutely destroy this team mentally, physically, and do it HARD. I was listening to 97.1 and they were passing on the news about more dealerships, 1200 more. They said you know what, at least we've got our hockey to take our minds off of the pain that is being a Michigander in these tough times. They're right. We took this filth from anahiem too, rich boys out in LA ripping on us for our misfortunes. How low can you get? It's exactly like you said about a dying aids patient. It's like saying HAHA maybe you shouldn't have been a ******! AIDS cures fags! It's wrong, disgusting, and in the worst tastes imaginable. For this I want the blackhawks team to pay dearly on the ice for the actions of their fans. So, your life is tough right now and you want a hockey team to take out your aggression on another team? You want them "bloodied and broken" because you got laid off? That's the very definition of impotent rage, and you might want to think about lightening up before it kills you, or you kill someone else. I'm sorry times are tough for you, but that has f*** all to do with hockey. Don't count on the Wings to get revenge on the world for you. Point being is that the Administration is allowing such behavior on your message board, and other fans are posting in it with happiness and delight = Classless. If anyone on LGWs tried making a thread just to attack your city, it'd be deleted quicker than you can say "banned". That my friend, is the difference between classy and classless. Uh... have you read this thread? I know, I know, "They started it", but that doesn't really work now, just like it didn't when you were 5. This thread is all about hating Chicago. Not the Blackhawks - Chicago. I don't see that as being any different from them telling Wings fans to get a job. ... Campbell's continuing his mediocre year with a mediocre playoffs. Good guy to have out on the PP, not someone you want playing in his own end. I'm guessing the Wings will relish him being on the ice. I'd say Chicago's D is average, and that's what will do them in this series. They'll also probably score some damn pretty goals, too.

Brevard 6 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 That's the spirit! Like your signature says, no mercy. Sonny, based on you saying you are a ripe old 27 years of age you could have been as young as 11 when Probert left Detroit. Watching Batman and getting sent off to bed before the west coast games would even start. Please tell us all of your exceptional first hand knowledge of what it was during the Probert/Kocur heyday. As a very old and experienced hawks fan I suggest you take the advice some of the more savvy Wings fans here have offered.
Brevard 6 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 Yeah I saw that ealier, it made me cross my fingers for an early Kane injury. You hope a player gets injured? Now where is the talk of classless fans?. Ryan, You and those like you (no matter what team the root for) are the worst of the worst. Beating everyone else ouot on the classless scale. I have to ask were you at the game when the Wing fan tossed the item that injured the hawk trainer? Did you cheer when it happened? Did you throw the item? Brevard 6 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 I know, right. It's just puzzling how they think it's perfectly fair game and humorous to attack the 100,000s of thousands of struggling families in the U.S. all impacted by the economical downturn. Yet, Red Wings fans are more graceful by not stooping to their level; not making personal attacks against their corrupted city. And I commend the Administration of LGWs to having the balls to delete such threads if *someone* did stoop down to the spineless, disgraceful action as some Chicago Hawks fans do on their boards. That speaks volumes about dignity, or lack thereof, from the top down in Chicago. It was interesting when the one Hawks fan got all defensive when I used their "corrupted city" as an example of how they are in no position to act as if they are "holier than thou". They are ones to talk, but Detroit Red Wings fans wish to talk about hockey, not talk about city misfortunes or scandals. It's just saddening and disheartening that a human being can go so low as some of the Hawks fans displayed on their message board. Absolutely disgraceful! Stay classy, Chicago. Having read a few threads on this board today what you claim is not true. Attacks against the city of Chicago and it's people have been made and as of this minute not deleted. Simply put some of them are no different than some of you. I have however only seen 1 poster asking for a player from the other team to be injured and that was a wings fan. I have however only seen 1 poster asking for a player from the other team to be injured and that was a wings fan. Living in Chicago I have been to many games at the old Stadium and the UC. Honestly, I have seen some pretty hilarious stuff go down from ignorant hawk fans over the years. If you think they are rough on Wings fans you should have been to the old barn when the North Stars came to town. LMAO There are surely a TON of Dbags running around this city, most of the worst see hockey as nothing more than an excuse to get drunk and try to start s*** with anyone wearing the other sides colors. That being said, I have had some great times at both with TRUE hockey fans and really enjoyed myself. Just beware the 20 something dbags and Blackhawk "fans" some of the worst outside of the s***hole known as Cbus.
zackisonfire 16 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) Almost everybody thinks their team will win before a series starts, why is this surprising? It doesn't make them ignorant, it makes them fans. It's partially just the overwhelming desire to win that makes them think they're going to win. And you know what, you guys are mighty cocky as well. Don't underestimate the Hawks. I won't underestimate them. I thought ducks fans were bad but after reading around.. its hilarious. You don't see this board making "Chicago Sucks" threads. I don't even mind the chant or even talking about it, but the fact that the rest of the league has completely s*** on your team for the past couple of years doesn't give anybody the right to go off against the actual city of Detroit. We're poor, the economy sucks, its a pretty dangerous place. We ******* GET IT. I really hope our boys s*** all over your city.
