Gutierrez 7 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 While it was an awesome hit and that pic is kinda funny, the fact that people booed when he got up is something Ducks fans would do and have done (Holmstrom in 07). Lets not stoop to their level guys, Selanne is a good player and not a goon like everyone else on that team.
sean 19 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Yeah I too was sad that Teemu had to be on the receiving end of that one. I liked the hit, but I would have been more satisfied if it were on Getzfrat, Fairy, Neidafag, or any of those tangos.

I had thought he was above garbage like this. As for the hit itself, what's interesting is that, if memory serves, the puck came right back their way as Stuart was making contact. He had committed to the hit before the puck came back -- so in that moment it was interference. But I think it became somewhat questionable when the puck came back. I dunno. I'd have to watch it again, I guess.
hockey1994 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Dirty. It's sad they hit the guy with talent for no reason. Red Wings are cool?
under_par_00 45 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Selanne passed the puck, then Stuart lined him up, and the puck came back. So I guess the hit was too late after Selanne had gotten rid of the puck??? It was very close. Very similar penalty call to Stuarts interference in game 6 I believe when he railed a guy behind the net.
