Young captain Toews leads Blackhawks

But not Keith? Fine with me.

Heck, there's lots of players on the Wings I would love to have on the Hawks.

Well, to be fair, the Wings have had Lidstrom for the past couple of decades. After he retires, then we'll start conniving a way to steal Keith.

Zetterberg will own him.. over and over again. So the winy ***** is crying about having a flu - boo-hoo! How do we know Zetterberg is playing 100% healthy? I don't see Z crying about any health issues.

That my friend is heart and guts. No guts, no glory. Toews will be crying like Jonas Hiller.... very soon.

How did you know Zetterberg had a bad back? Toews didn't cry about a health issue, he was held out of practice and the press asked the coaching staff why.

Using your logic since you knew Zetterberg had a bad back he either

A) Wasn't tough enough to play through it and missed time.

B) Was a (winy?) ***** crying about it.

Which was it?

It would be good to learn facts before making statements like you did otherwise you just might appear to be a moron.

Or, just maybe... this might be a shocker to you... but, maybe:

C. Maybe I am actually a big enough fan to read every post-SCF material and followed the team and the cup. Maybe my "fan" status is borderline 'obsession', but it is what it is.

Now you look like the "moron", see how easy this is? Open your mouth again. ;)

I gotta say one thing here. Generally the yougn captains annoy me to no end, but I've never seen anything in Toews that makes me think he's a whiner or not mature enough to do it. THat could change this series, though. The Wings have a tendency to bring out the whininess in opponents.

It helps that Toews doesn't have ridiculous scoring stats like Crosby, which may or may not be because of his dedication to two-way play. But there have been times where he's among the first to kill penalties. Pretty good for his age.

For the most part, he's as whiny as any other captain. He just doesn't have Sid's whiny cry baby face that makes it look 10x worse.

Toews seems like a solid hockey player, captain and person. That being said... I hope someone sends his helmet flying at center ice. An extra bonus will be if he's spitting out chicklets as well.

Haha, isn't that the truth! :D

Oh, and don't forget, Red Wings have a tendency to make fans whine a lot too :D:siren:

I am so excited about this series, because I bet this thread will soon be bumped with fact, "wow, I was completely wrong about Toews, he's a big ******!" - "I lost all respect for him."

Wings bring out the true character in people. See: Scott Neidermayer in the end of game 6.

I was thinking the same thing. Once Toews starts whining, this love fest is OVER!

Depends how bad the whining is. If it's incessant then yeah he'll probably go a notch down. But if it's just captain duty, then you can't really fault him for it. If you wanted to, you could argue that Stevie was a whiner.

Really? Do remember this Stevie Y quote? "When you lose, say little. When you win, say less."

Stevie Yzerman is/was and always will be a class act. If Toews is half the man Yzerman is, then he'll be a hell of guy. With that said, wait until Wings bring it against the Hawks and see if Toews deserves this love fest. My bet is no.

In fact, it's ridiculous that Toews is even being used in the same sentence with Yzerman.

Yzerman was without doubt a whiner. What separates guys like Y and Toews from crybabies like Crosby is knowing when and why to complain.

For Sandman;

So Zetterberg's injury was reported in the press somewhere by someone correct? Sounds exactly like the Toews situation. How is one a stud and the other a crybaby?

Been surfing here for quite some time. Lots of good hockey people along with you and ryan. ... Like I said lots of good hockey people AND THEN the 2 of you.
