Zetterling 16 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Cleary got a double minor in the first last night for high sticking but they didn't really show it on VS. Does anyone have a clip of it? Who was it on? This was the penalty they got their first goal on but I wasn't sure if a double minor was the right call.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 I never saw a replay of it (big surprise), but I know Stuart was high-sticked in the 1st period and had to get stitches, but there was no call.. :/

b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 It was one Toews, stick went between his face and visor. Never saw any blood and it looked like it grazed him more than anything. I always feel a little better getting to actually see the blood, but I'm gonna give the refs the benefit of the doubt, even though they've done anything but earn it. That's how I felt when it was called. "Oh there's probably a tiny trickle of red they're calling it for, I don't see nothin... and Toews is back already *sigh*" But it looked bigger later in the period

WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Ever since VS has been carrying games I have noticed and become highly frustrated with the fact that they very infrequently show replays of penalties. I don't wanna jump to any conspiracy thepories regarding why that is but it sure is interesting.

WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 They showed a replay of the penalty in question.... ...I didnt see the VS feed so I can't say whether or not they did in fact replay it, but that wasn't the point of my reply anyway smartass. My point was that they very infrequently replay penalties that are called. I guarantee I am not in the minority when it comes to this issue either.
thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 I can give the benefit of the doubt, as here literally only has to be a drop of blood... but can I please get replays of penalties?

hockeysattva 8 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 TSN showed a pretty good replay, and the stick went into the face pretty good, but I didn't think I looked like a double minor so much as just a sloppy bad luck play.
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 He did not have control of his stick after a play and it was not intentional, but had to call it... How about the high stick that Stuart took that the ref's missed?
