Franzen takes Kane's mouthguard

The Stanley Cup quest is one for grown men to pursue and WIN. If the Hawks and their fans can't take a joke without whining like a bunch of prissy schoolgirls, they certainly don't deserve the Cup.

Grow up, binky-suckers. <_<

Kane had a great attitude about the incident:

Nice that the kid had a good sense of humor about the whole thing. I like him more all the time. Oh and priceless that Mule actually did that.

I like the kid too, looking forward to rooting for him in the Olympics next year, since I'm not likely to have the privilege very often.

really? It's called hockey. Don't chirp and trash talk to a team that is kicking your ass. Franzen is just getting under his skin.

I mean cmon he does look retarded with that thing hangin' out of his mouth.

Not anymore retarded than anyone else!!!

lol look at a post in the Blackhawks message board about this

"How stuff like this does not get called for unsportsmanlike conduct I have no idea... that's just ridiculous... 10 minute misconduct at a minimum... should be a 2min PP too, though, really... if you're going to be a complete jerk, it should affect your team."

The posts over there make me laugh. They're so genuinely entertaining. You can definitely tell they haven't experienced a playoff run in a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng time.

If Franzen were to sneeze on Kane, they would've wanted a misconduct for it. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT IN THE PLAYOFFS. NU UH! NO WAY!"

Another quote from Mule about it, apparently a couple of the guys got a chuckle out of it. I know I certainly did...now if he'd only do that to Crosby...man I'd really lose it then.

MLive.com's own Ansar Khan offers a superb post-script to Red Wings forward Johan Franzen's decision to rip out Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane's mouthguard:

May 27, MLive.com: "I couldn't resist," Franzen said. "That was more a fun thing. Probably won't do it again."

Kane, 20, skated away without saying anything. Dan Cleary, standing nearby, was laughing.

"That was pretty funny. That was pretty good," Cleary said. "(Franzen) is so much bigger. He was mad, too."

Said Niklas Kronwall: "It was hard not to get a little chuckle about it. Never have (seen that), don't know if I ever will (again)."

"I guess it was un-Red Wing-like, but I really got a kick out of that," said Dan Cleary, who was standing next to the play.

"I don't feel we're robotic. We have a boatload of fun, but when it comes to game mode, there's a certain switch. It does take time to learn, but now we all know the discipline it takes to win, whether it's taking a punch in the face after the whistle, or ignoring when someone's trying to goad you into something. You're never bigger than the team."

So, in the Oakland press this morning i read this :

"Out of the mouth"

Johan Franzen did an unusual thing during game 4. During a break , the big winger skated over to Chicago's Patrick Kane and as the two exchanged words, Franzen pulled Kane's mouth guard out and tossed it on the ice. The mouth guard was half out of Kane's mouth as he jawed with Franzen. "It was right there, couldn't resist." Franzen said.

Dan Cleary can be seen smiling in the replay. "I've never seen that," Cleary said. "It was only the three of us, the ref, the linesman, that really had a good feel for it. It was just funny how the whole thing went down. He (Kane) was mad."

LoL, it was just kind of funny hearing franzen and cleary talk about it and I thought i'd share it.

Also, awww Kane , YOU MAD?!?!?
