Jake Ryan 1 Report post Posted May 29, 2009 Of course, NBC won't be televising the huge "Booing" of Bettman when he comes out onto the ice. That ****** bag can't get the simple sh!t right. No wonder this league has no chance of overtaking the other sports in popularity. He's got a goldmine with the Detroit Red Wings, and he wants to obliterate it. Stupid. good morning 10 Report post Posted May 29, 2009 Look at it this way - Wings depth gives us a HUGE advantage over the Penguins for this 3-games-in-4-nights stretch. They have a couple immensely talented guys...we have 4 deep lines to roll out. Go Wings.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 29, 2009 Look at it this way - Wings depth gives us a HUGE advantage over the Penguins for this 3-games-in-4-nights stretch. They have a couple immensely talented guys...we have 4 deep lines to roll out. Go Wings. You're forgetting that we're only playing 4 or 5 defensemen with these injuries. If the Wings aren't healthy, we have no depth advantage.
T.OWingsFan 7 Report post Posted May 29, 2009 The Wings are hurting and the league knows it. This is the most blatant attempt to afford an advantage to the Penguins yet by the league. Its funny because if the Wings had lost last game and the Chicago series went to 6 or 7, they would have had 5-7 days rest. WTF? But for all my rage this playoffs with how Detroit's been getting shafted with calls and non calls etc, the Wings just keep winning. They're on a mission. Nightfall 871 Report post Posted May 29, 2009 I agree that the back to back games suck, but its not like it hasn't been done before. The Pens and Caps complained about the same thing when they played each other and they had to travel in their back to back games in 5 and 6 of their series. As for getting more rest, the finals have been all about starting 2-3 days AFTER the last series is complete. The fact is that Detroit finished their series last, so we should only get 2-3 days off before the next series starts. So Saturday is quite fair. Yet, some Wings fans here believe it to a "conspiracy" because they are starting so soon. Should there be a rest clause written somewhere that states if one team is injured they can opt to take a week off before the next series starts? Heck, the Pens are hurting a bit too with Gonchar's knee and they only got an extra day of rest. Some wings fans are using this schedule as a convenient excuse if their team loses. Lets be honest here.... If the Wings don't win this series, it won't be because of the refs, schedule, or a league conspiracy. It will be because the Pens outworked them for it. Detroit has home ice. They have the talent. They have the work ethic. If they play flat like they did in Anaheim in games 3 and 6, then they will lose the series. If they play hard, they will win in 6 games. RedWings 79 Report post Posted May 29, 2009 love helm ! he was just so unlucky, not scoring goal with so many scoring chances... reminds me about good old draper... could mature in a guy like him. His defense is underrated, he can be lethal on the PK next year.
