hahahahaha, i don't think so. i get what you're saying (just like the referee is an extension of the playing surface, but i really don't think it applies here.

to who said that this is now a make up for hossa's goal against the ducks that didn't count... how do they even compare? One was a GOAL in the last minute of a one-goal game... the other could have lead to a scoring chance (Penalty shot). Two completely different scenarios. Apples and Oranges.

You may not think so, but I know so...so yah.

The differing opinions on this board clearly shows that it could have gone either way. Even if it was a penalty or a penalty shot it was the right play by Z. Taking a penalty to save a goal is worth it.

We got away with one there.

With the brouhaha over the screw up on Hossa's goal against the Ducks we see that the calls can go both ways.

QFT

We did get away with one there. Covering the puck on the back of the goalie in the crease is a penalty shot. The rule states if it happens in the crease. The crease goes up to infinity. I was expecting a penalty shot there, but we did get away with it. Just further proof that you need a best of 7 game series. You may get screwed in one game like the Wings did in game 3, but there are more games to make up for it.
