Hank, Dats Cleary Line is the S%it!

Of all the things in this game that line was awesome. Serious, serious offensive pressure, great and smart play in our end. They just have it all. Staying with this line is an absolute 100% no brainier and anything else to start game 6 is foolish.

Sorry Homer, but the twins, in this series, need a third line mate with hands, grit, a shot, can skate.. Cleary is the man for the job.

Sorry Hossa, no Dats for you. Besides, you have a Dats junior with Flip and can't you figure it yet out that he will make you a star?

P.S. Can you imagine being Cleary and having Babs tell you that you are playing with Hank and Pavel. Man, that is some serious respect and trust. Cleary came through - game winning goal!

I absolutely love that line combo. Net presence - Goalscoring - Playmaking - Puck Possession - Puck Retrieval. It's all there and its terrific.

Isn't it? Man!!! .... I really have nothing to say than just how damn good that line was. It was exactly what the doctor ordered.

I'm not so sure. I agree that staying with that line is going to create tons of offensive pressure on the Pens, but saying that it's a no brainer to stick with is in game 6 is a bit much.

If Malkin and Crosby are kept together on one superline, absolutely counter with Z-D-C. But remember that the Pens have last change in game 6. If they split up Crosby and Malkin, having Zetterberg and Datsyuk on seperate lines gives Babcock a much, much, much better capacity to match lines.

Having Zetterberg freely shift to match himself against Crosby, regardless of what linemates that puts Z out with, worked really well in game 3. This fell apart in game 4, but I chalk that up to Zetterberg's relative level of exhaustion after his 24 min performance in game 3, and more importantly- the overall garbage play of the Wings in game 4.

If Dats can do the same thing to Malkin that Zetterberg did to Crosby in the first 3 games we can hopefully minimize Malkin. Remember that Datsyuk gets another 2 days of rest between now and then, and he already looks much better than he has since the regular season.

Given Filppula, Cleary, Hudler, Hossa and Franzen's contributions tonight, we should feel confident that the Wings can out score the 10 forwards on Pittsburgh's roster not named Crosby or Malkin.

But hey, this is an elimination game for the Pens, anything can happen, any player can be a hero.

Sorry Hossa, no Dats for you. Besides, you have a Dats junior with Flip and can't you figure it yet out that he will make you a star?

Before Filppula's offensive explosion in these playoffs I'd argue that point, but so far we've seen a new Filppula- he's a Finnish hockey player who suddenly has some finish. :D I'm loving the new, more confident Filppula!

I hope the Cleary haters got a good look since they'll hopefully see these 3 again in game 6.

Really? Everyone has their own persecution complex, but Cleary fans?!? The Cleary hating community would barely fill a smart car.

Dats and Z are one the best combos in the NHL. They read eachother so well. I especially like this combo because it pairs Hossa and Fil with each other and they usually look good when playing on the same line. When you add the Mule then you are left wondering, "Damn. This is our second line?"
