Win or lose- this Wings team of last 2 years is a team for the ages

Best in hockey today I think but, the 01-02 Wings and the 94-98 incarnations were probably much better on paper.

2002 was the only year I absolutely knew who was going to win the Cup in October.

1996 was when everyone was wrong.

97 and 98 were Bowman's teams, it would be interesting to see how Bowman and Babcock would go head to head.

I will give you this, I think the current Wing are the best cap era team.

It is true even though I am Pens fan. This Wings team is one of the deepest I have ever seen from top to bottom.

a Penguins fan can't talk about RED WINGS please... 11 STANLEY CUPS!!!

A Pens fan can talk about how good the Wings are.

I'll even give some of the Pens credit.

It's been a memorable run. It all comes down to Friday night. If they win, they're definitely one of the best teams assembled. I think that the '90s Wings team was a little grittier but this era Wings team is more dominant overall. And, since I wasn't aroudn to see early Cup wins, it's hard to judge them against that.

I think that right now though, we're looking at the most dominant Wings team ever to skate.

The Wings are certainly a fantastic team top to bottom and an incredible organisation overall.

However, the Pens are showing a glimpse of the future by returning a second year in a row, also. Not too many teams have been able to do that, recently. Crosby, Malkin, and Flurry (sp?) are huge cornerstones to continually add role players to and have great success. They will be competitive for years to come.

I'm hoping for a Wings Hoist Friday, then another rematch next year.
