paul19010 14 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 I like to bet sports, im not excellent at it, but I pay attention. The movement of the line is making me feel better about tonights game. If there is anyone who pays attention to this kind of stuff, I would like to see your thoughts. Anyway, the line opened at Wings -150, which means basicly you bet $100 to win $75. So the juice eats up $25. Now however the line is -190, and I have seen it as high as -210! That means if you bet $100, you only win $50. If you take the Pens +170, you win $170. The Wings are heavy favs here. Now whats the big deal? Well in my opinion there are times that when the public is hard on one side or another the line doesnt move. If the line didnt move as much as it has, I would be very worried because that would tell me they want money on the Wings, which means they know or at least their insiders feel strongly the pens win, so they want the money on the wings so they can get paid. I hope im making sense for yall. The bottom line is, its clear that since Vegas keeps moving the line up and up, they want money on the Pens. Why would they want to discourage people from bettin on the Wings? Because they feel strongly they will win. I mean, jeez, have you seen -210 at all this entire playoffs for anyone? Im not betting this game, but if I was no way im taking -210, the juice eats up all the profit. I mean you get less than $50 if you bet $100, thats how strong of a favorite we are. That has to be good.

Casey 145 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 I dont know where you are getting -210 though.. highest i've seen is -190 Here's a list. Yahoo has Detroit from -200 to -210. Pitt ranges from +170 to +175. One wonders what the oddsmakers know for such a move. +150 up to +210 is a giant shift.

soonboomer 31 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 Something else...........if my memory serves me correctly, the Wings were -155/-160 to win the series, and now they are as high as -220 to win this game. Looks like vegas is expecting Cindy and the girls to take a serious ass whoppin' tonite.
