Red Wings Lineup of The Future

Recommended Posts

To kill time until Free Agency tomorrow... create your Red Wings lineup of the future (2011- 2012 Season)- but the catch is that you can only use Detroit prospects. Here's what I came up with:

Filppula- Zetterberg- Franzen

Holmstrom- Datsyuk- Homstrom

Abdelkader- Leino- Axelsson

Emmerton- Helm- Ryno

Pare, Mursak

Lidstrom- Rafalski

Stuart- Kronwall

Ericsson- Kindl

Kolosov

McCollum

Larsson

Really Fils on the 1st line?? And does Holmstrom have a brother on the Wings I didn't know about?

My only dream is to see Huds on at least the 2nd line and add a grinder to the 4th (Neil perhaps?)

:P

I'm confused about two things here. One, who the heck is "Homstrom"? It would be confusing to have Holmstrom and Homstrom on one line. Two, you actually think Holmstrom will play 2011-2012?

Hmm...

Likely to happen between now (2009 offseason) and then (2011-12 season) are the following:

Conklin leaves as UFA.

Chelios leaves as UFA.

Hossa leaves as UFA.

Samuelsson leaves as UFA.

Some older players may retire as their contracts expire.

The lineup I am posting also accounts for some players who are on the edge of making the lineup being traded for picks or prospects because better, younger, cheaper players took their spots. This also assumes that trades I would prefer be made within the next week aren't made, because they probably won't be.

Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Cleary

Franzen/Hudler/Kopecky (I like this line because Hudler has shown excellent chemistry with both Franzen and Kopecky)

Leino/Filppula/Emmerton

Abdelkader/Helm/Ritola

McGrath

Lidstrom/Rafalski

Kronwall/Stuart

Kindl/Lilja

Meech

Osgood

Larsson
