BlakKy 58 Report post Posted July 6, 2009 ? Exelby was the main part of that deal apart from shedding salary. He wont be moved. The only d-man over then Kaberle that's leaving TO is like you said, Finger. Exelby is just going to fill in holes. That deal was primarily a dump in T.O.'s favour. high_stick69 7 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 Not enough offense, IMO. HAHA! I'll bet one of the reasons you're on Finger is because you watched him as a Gambler....heheheh
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) Kaberle-Beauchemin Exelby-Komisarek Finger-Stralman/Frogren/X ? Or? Schenn? Kaberle's going to be traded, I'm almost possitive he'll be gone before October. I think you'll see: Komoisarek-Schenn Beauchemin-Exelby Finger-Stralman Edited July 7, 2009 by Drake_Marcus
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 Kaberle will apparently be traded for a young, high-end forward. That leaves... Schenn - Komisarek <-- Probably the meanest pairing in hockey. Won't be fun to play against them. Beauchemin - White <-- Nice blend of toughness and offensive ability Exelby - Van Ryn/Stralman <-- Same thing, but on a lesser scale as far as offense goes. Stralman fits in for the 65 games that Van Ryn is hurt. Finger can block shots for the Marlies for all I care. Ian White can be moved up to forward, if need be, but he's a good defenceman. The forwards will be young, so not a lot of goals, but at least they'll be hard to play against for a change. You'd put Exelby on the third pairing? Switch him with White. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 Exelby is just going to fill in holes. That deal was primarily a dump in T.O.'s favour. Exelby is a HUGE hitter. He's a Burke type of player. I'm pretty sure Burke targeted him for just that reason- to make the Leafs harder to play against.

Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) YES! first pronger, then Beauchemin. Keep stripping down that ducks defense and keep sending them over to the east to bug cindy LOVE IT! This is the part that is scaring me.. ducks MUST sign wizzy as far as I am concerned right now. ummmm... maybe triple shift Nieds...and maybe put in Sbisa? <_< on another topic.....Koivu + Teemu would be kool Edited July 7, 2009 by Duck Guy
NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) I like Exelby for this: The Leafs should be interesting to watch. There was an article on THN that I agreed with - while it may take some more seasons of, ahem, high draft picks and/or savvy trades/signings to really get them going, they'll have lots of cap space to play with, and will at least play hard and mean (and give the fans something to cheer about). Opie 308 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 Any thoughts on Boston Toronto trying to revisit the draft day debacle known as Kaberle for Kessel?
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted July 7, 2009 That D corps isn't too great offensively, much worse if they move Kaberle, and their forwards are going to be terrible. They're going to have a hell of a time scoring.
