Schenn - Komisarek <-- Probably the meanest pairing in hockey. Won't be fun to play against them.

lol.. well komi better hope lucic is not playing against him. overrated beyond belief is komisarek. schenn on the other hand is going to be a stud.

? Exelby was the main part of that deal apart from shedding salary. He wont be moved. The only d-man over then Kaberle that's leaving TO is like you said, Finger.

Exelby is just going to fill in holes. That deal was primarily a dump in T.O.'s favour.

Kaberle-Beauchemin

Exelby-Komisarek

Finger-Stralman/Frogren/X ?

Or?

Schenn? Kaberle's going to be traded, I'm almost possitive he'll be gone before October.

I think you'll see:

Komoisarek-Schenn

Beauchemin-Exelby

Finger-Stralman

Kaberle will apparently be traded for a young, high-end forward.

That leaves...

Schenn - Komisarek <-- Probably the meanest pairing in hockey. Won't be fun to play against them.

Beauchemin - White <-- Nice blend of toughness and offensive ability

Exelby - Van Ryn/Stralman <-- Same thing, but on a lesser scale as far as offense goes. Stralman fits in for the 65 games that Van Ryn is hurt.

Finger can block shots for the Marlies for all I care.

Ian White can be moved up to forward, if need be, but he's a good defenceman.

The forwards will be young, so not a lot of goals, but at least they'll be hard to play against for a change.

You'd put Exelby on the third pairing? Switch him with White.

Exelby is a HUGE hitter. He's a Burke type of player. I'm pretty sure Burke targeted him for just that reason- to make the Leafs harder to play against.

That D is average if you ask me...... good because it's the leafs.. but if that was the Wings D people wouldnt be happy..

Maybe some Wings fans, but other then Finger and Frogren I'd take any of there defenceman on the Wings.

I like Exelby for this:

The Leafs should be interesting to watch. There was an article on THN that I agreed with - while it may take some more seasons of, ahem, high draft picks and/or savvy trades/signings to really get them going, they'll have lots of cap space to play with, and will at least play hard and mean (and give the fans something to cheer about).
