Winter Classic questions

I just wanted to ask Red Wings fans a few questions about the Winter Classic, since the Red Wings just played in it last year.

1.When did tickets go on sale last year?

2. For those who went, how hard was it to get tickets?

3. also, for those who went, what were the prices like for the tickets?

4. and finally, i read somewhere that season ticket holders get preference, but i dont know if its just boston season ticket holders or boston AND flyers STH that get prefernece, does anyone have any idea?

5. also, for those who went, would there be any website/ ticket brokers you would suggest using to get tickets?

any answers would be helpful and thanks in advance guys.

I didn't go, but from what I remember was that Cubs and Blackhawk season ticket holders got first crack. Then, the rest went to a lottery system.

1. I think I got mine late November.

2. I remember there was a lottery open to everyone and a separate lottery for STH. I only got an email from the STH one.

3. There were 3 different price ranges. The upper deck was like $325. The middle area was $225. The lower area was like $75.

4. From my understanding, the Chicago season ticket holders got first priority, but they could only get the number of tickets they got for the season. Then a certain number of tickets were reserved for the Wings STH, which were determined in a lottery. Every other ticket was done by a lottery for everyone who entered for them.

The sitelines at Wrigley were worse as you got closer to the field. It was harder to see the puck and the glass interfered with parts of the ice.

No, I meant lower seats. Like Andrew said, the lower you sat, the worse your view of the ice was. I had the $225 seats (which were perfect) and the puck was just visible near the boards closest to you. So, I would imagine down lower you wouldn't be able to see the puck much (at least not at mid ice).

1. Tickets went on sale not to much before the event. I don't remember the date completely but i would say late October early November.

2. For me it wasn't hard because I am a Red Wings season ticket holder.

3. NOT CHEAP, but worth every penny. The most expensive tickets were the higher up seats.

4. The Hawks season ticket holder got first shot then Wings got second. Still had no problem getting them. They said only two per account but I was able to talk them into giving me 6 tickets.

I am a Flyers season ticket holder, so I was hoping that I would be able to get a shot at getting tickets. Did they make them available to every red wings season ticket holder, or was therer some sort of lottery or something?

Apparently tickets were first provided to Blackhawks' season ticket holders, then Cubs' season ticket holders, then Wings' season ticket holders. As you're technically rooting for the away team, I imagine you'll get what's left of what the Bruins and Sox fans grab up.

I am a Flyers season ticket holder, so I was hoping that I would be able to get a shot at getting tickets. Did they make them available to every red wings season ticket holder, or was therer some sort of lottery or something?

Well they called it a lottery but everyone got a chance to buy them it seemed like. They set out an email where were had to inform them if we were interested and in what price and how many if there where extras. I bought my first two tickets then when they called back got the other 4 to go with them. I wouldn't be to worried if you are a season ticket holder I would plan on going to the game!
