wingslionstigers 12 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Yeah, I hope that Kronwall throws himself around in the regular season too this time and not just in the playoffs. Yeah that would make alot of sense.. Throw his body around in the season and get injured so he can't throw his body around in the playoffs when we need it. Babcock doesn't want him making hits like that on a regular basis during the season. Everytime he goes in for a hit like that hes risking injury. Man whats with this place? Preseason and you guys are already criticizing the team. Its ******* preseason, all of the players that have roster spots going in aren't out there to play hard. They are out there coasting around, getting the feel back to be ready for the season. Thats all there is to it. The only players that should be playing hard and the guys that arent locked into the roster and them guys have been playing great.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 I spent an evening doing up a spreadsheet with all the stats for the players this preseason. Took me a while because I had to paste in the event summary from each game and assemble it that way. If Matt wants it to host on the site he can PM me. The highlights would be that our best forwards in terms of points per game (ppg) were: Datsyuk-- 1 g / 5 a (1.20 ppg) Franzen-- 4 g / 1 a (1.00 ppg) Leino-- 2 g / 3 a (1.00 ppg) Williams, Jason-- 2 g / 2 a (1.00 ppg) On defense both Kronwall and Rafalski had a point per game and Rafalski led the team in turn-overs by a mile (11 in 5 games). rcallan 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Not worried at all after preseason games, like babcock said, its an opportunity to see who amongst the kids is ready to play in the nhl or not. Only thing i'm worried about is zetterberg already having an injury, i think he's going to have a big season this year (we need it too), but he has to be healthy. Also, I have only seen Bertuzzi in two games, but in both games he's looked good in my opinion. Contrary to others on this site, I actually thought he looked quick out there. The standout for me so far is Kronwall, I just think he is being even more physical so far and I hope he can do it consistantly in the regular season. If not, just in the playoffs will be fine like every other year. I really enjoy watching Ericsson play too. Hate to say this, but for some reason E really reminds me of Pronger. I hope Abs gets to go on the 4th line instead of Malts. I'll admit that I thought we had to put Dats with Z before Babs said the lines, but I think Babs is right, having those guys on separate lines, and being able to have that 3rd line as a legitimate scoring threat, is the best way to go, at least to start.
