Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 I don't know but I hate it. Need to bombard them with emails and tell them to get rid of them.
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 I'm hoping/assuming that they just don't have the full-HD camera's out for the pre-season. If not, yeah, bring the rain...
hockey23 79 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 It's not HD. They will have HD during the regular season but last year not every game was. It's just now that they have their HD channel on 24/7 but when something (like today's game) is not broadcast in HD, they just give you the standard def picture in 4:3 which means there will be side bars if you have a HDTV. tdinc 45 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 I just emailed FSN regional and sent a complaint. I simply informed them that the side bars are very distracting. and wondered why some games are full HD and some are cut to 720 broadcast.
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 I believe the sidebars were there because the HD view was on the NHL network, not from Fox Detroit. At least here in Texas, the HD version was not offered on Fox Detroit's HD channel. It was only available on the NHL channel. And they use those sidebars a lot, if not all the time. If you are using standard def cameras that's what it will show up as. And as mentioned they are on 24/7 on the HD channel now not just when broadcasting HD content. Which I like because it makes it much easier to tivo. Filing a complaint does nothing because there is really nothing they can do if they aren't broadcasting in HD.
