robb himself 143 Report post Posted October 31, 2009 I was just thinking about the option of finding a free agent goaltender to perhaps help us out in net, and though there arent many good ones left there is still Manny Fernandez who in my opinion is still a great goal tender. Last season while sharing the crease with Vezina winner Tim Thomas, he would also help them win the Jennings trophey for fewest goals against in the league at 196. Fernandez recorded a 16-8-3 record with a 2.59 goals against average and may be worth a look at in the next couple months if our goaltending situation continues to go south. Im sure he would be very affordable considering he has not had any offers at all. what do you guys think?
Superman54 91 Report post Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) The goalie has been known for his good winning record from what I remember, but I always heard Bruins fans criticizing him. Edited November 1, 2009 by Superman54
Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted October 31, 2009 I always liked him...but after Boston I would say stick a fork in him, he is done. I really don't think our netminding is the problem though...I think it is the entire team. But, we will bounce back we always do.
Carman 387 Report post Posted October 31, 2009 I wouldn't mind it. It can't really hurt.
Superman54 91 Report post Posted October 31, 2009 I agree that last year it was not the goaltending troubling the wings. But if we didn't turn the puck over so much this year, I would accuse the netminders so far.
