Stiffy 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 I had a baseball thrown to me last summer at Wrigley while sitting in the bleachers and was very tempted to keep the ball, but gave it to a young kid a few feet over after realizing it would mean more to him than me There you go. That is EXACTLY what a real man does. Good for you.
Guest zackmorris Report post Posted November 21, 2009 Give idiots booze, and put them in a crowd and automatically they feel they need to assert their dominance. Thanks, evolution.

FinWing 26 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 Wow, lot of misdirected hate in this thread. Hockey players are probably the most giving athletes in sports. Even though I can't stand Anaheim, here you have Niedermayer (a ****** I think since he elbowed Datsyuk) skating like 80 feet down the boards to go give a stick to some kid. There was obviously some reason he went over to her. Maybe he spotted her during the game or something. Because players don't typically skate that far out of their way just to drop off a stick. My point is he really wanted THAT kid to have that stick. And then, for him to have to stand there, helpless and watch some ******* assholes try to rip the stick away from the kid. Personally, I find the whole thing disheartening. I feel bad for the kid. I feel bad for Niedermayer. What do think Niedermayer is thinking afterwards? Probably that he can't give out sticks anymore or else he'll have to personally hand them over to somebody. It was a kind act that ended in spectacle because of some asses. That's never good for anybody and quite frankly, as much of a dick as I can be, it just really made me sad to see that kind of thing happen. I don't care that it was Anaheim. That's just really sad and disappointing. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bash Niedermayer nor the Ducks team for that matter. It just seems that their fans in general are not very classy, but then again that's just me. What Niedermayer did was cool, too bad it turned out the way it did. When I have gone to games the only time I have seen stuff get to where it should never be (about to fight or actually fighting) is when the wings and kings are in town. It seems the king's fans hate us more then we do them. And I think duck and wings fans are at the same level of dislikeness. sure their is gonna be a couple of stupid fans at any other games but I think it is more frequent at the kings/wings games. miller76 463 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 So now everyone remembers the incident with Niedermayers stick a few weeks back. Being that I live fairly close to the Honda Center, sometimes i run into people I know down there. The whole Anaheim/LA area isnt as big as people think. My co worker was telling me that his buddy Mike Vallely is the guy who was in that fight. His daughter was the intended recipient of Niedermayers stick. For those who don't know who this guy is, he is a professional skateboarder, who really enjoys fighting, and is all over youtube. Here is a video of him being himself. My co worker also told me neither one of them wanted to press charges, so none were filed.

Guest Four Report post Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I cant believe thats him Vallely is in the plaid shirt, not the bigger guy in the blue. You can tell by the tattoos on his hands in this video: He's really slimmed down. Also, Miller's story is correct according to various news sources.
