when injured players start returning

does anyone think its a possibility we explode with offense?

Yes. And our special teams will explode too. Our PP is suffering without Franzen, Williams, Kronwall and Filppula. Also when Kronwall and Flip back, our PK just got a whole lot better.

We'll be scary.

And rested.

Because we won't just be the same team. We'll have grown accustom to playing through adversity and playing without those star players. This will make us that much better in the end.

This is a blessing in disguise if we can hang in around the div and take a lead at some point. We're good enough and our last couple weeks have just been ref f*** jobs and a string of bad luck bounces. That never lasts a whole season with players as talented as ours.

exactly...

all of these "the sky is falling" threads lately have been annoying the hell out of me - We lost 3 of our best 7 players (some might even argue 3 of our best 6 or even 5) - NO team could lose that much and still roll like nothing happened... once they are all back, we are going to notice a drastic difference

also, people should look at the bright side - I think Drew Miller has been quite a find as a 4th liner and we never would have been able to claim him without this bad luck first happening...

as long as wings are able to stay above .500 when the stars come back Wings will explode and get much much better. In the meantime Howard is getting better (knock on wood), which is promising for years to come as well as in case Ozzie starts stinking up the joint again...

This is a great question and to me, has two different sides to an answer.

1) many people may say that the wings started the season healthy and the roster was full and we were still terrible. Why would gaining back payers that we lost early on when we were bad HELP the team when they came back?

However others (including me) will say:

2)Yes we will have a drastic change not only in offense but also in all around team play. The team that is playing now has experienced drastic adversity. The wings that have been so good for so long and who have won games without much effort in years past now know what it feels like to be on the other side of things. We've lost great offense in Franzen and gread two way play in Flip as well as good defensive presence and offensive touch in Kronner and good PP shot in williams. Needless to say, the rest of the team has needed to pick up the slack. And althought the team still isnt playing up to their potential, i think by the time these guys do come back off injury, the team on the ice now will have a whole new aspect on the game, which is only going to better this team. We just need to keep our heads above water, learn from the adversity and strive to be a better team. With so many players coming back from injury (key players) and Howard playing better than I and many others ever expected, i think we will be just fine and notice a pleasent increase not only in scoring, but just over all hockey sense and team play.

Hopefully.

Although we didn't exactly explode at the end of the SCF when our players finally came back. It'll take a while for injured players to get back to form offensively.

Thats because half of them were playing injured.

Yes. I made a thread about this about a week or so ago. Like I have been saying, as long as we get to the show I don't see why we can't win the cup. That is assuming we have no other injuries ofcourse.
