How dare a 22 year old kid want to return to his native country where he can speak his native language again and get paid more. Seriously, how does one have the audacity to do this.

Yeah cause nobody should have to pay their dues to make it to the NHL.

If only Leino had this kid's talent.

Actually I think its a bit selfish. The Wings are investing a good deal of time and effort on his development just for him to leave. I understand there's culture shock and he's relatively young, but he's pretty much wasting our time.

Why do Swedes / Europeans? hate the AHL?

I would have to say its because of several things such as

Low status league among europeans

The long bus rides (even in small sweden they take a flight to most of the games)

The tight schedule with 3games in 4 nights etc wear down on you

Home sweet home, they get equally or more paid in sweden, bigger ice - less physical contact.. just sounds comfortable eh... :/

Bleh it sucks but its the truth.

f*** Axelsson...

Why so hard on the guy? Ya, he ran back to Sweden but maybe in a couple years he will be more mature and developed and he will be ready to make the big jump. Three of our best Swede's didn't play in the minors in America. Lidstrom, Z and Franzen all played in Sweden until the made they jump over to the big club.

Even a year away and then coming back isn't bad.
